Will Hadlee be better than Houla?

It is very hard to compare the two and I am not exactly sure what you are asking and/or suggesting but here's what I think. If I remember correctly, Hadley is a bit of a hard-nut ball getter with average footskills, Houlihan is an outside type player with superb disposal by foot.

Anyway, I reckon Hadley should be developed into a defensive midfielder (not a tagger) or running half-back flanker to release 1AW into the midfield. Houlihan's best work is on a forward flank where he can use his creativity and sublime footskills to kick goals or assist other in kicking them. Hoops should line up every week on the oppositions attacking HBF (Shaw, Gilbee, McLeod etc).

As we need a strong defensive midfielder, and this will help Houla apparently star in the forward-line like all you geniuses out there believe he will!

?????
Totally different players, but imo yes! he has strength and a defensive side to his game.
But i don't think there is a spot on the list for houlihan to hide anymore, time to hit out or get out:thumbsu:

You guys did well picking up Hadley - should be handy. But I was just looking up his stats for this year in Brisbane and noticed that the Lions only won 2 of the 14 matches when Hadley played, but won 7 out of 8 when he was out.

I'm not even sh** stirring, just thought they were interesting numbers.

I agree with everything until your last sentence.

I don't think Hoops is accountable enough for this role, whereas somelike like Carazzo can play this role very well -take his man out of the game and still get plenty of the ball himself.

hadlee was a very good right arm fast medium swing bowler but now may be too old for the rough and tumble of modern afl. :)

i'd go on matthews' reaction - he didn't like losing hadley at all and rates him highly - he's a very very handy pickup for next to nothing.

Did you see his game against Adelaide at The Dome this year? Also, if he can be good for 3+ goals a game, which he has been plenty of times, I wouldn't mind as much about his accountability as his opponent will be the one that will have to start being accountable.

Yes, although it was against Port Adelaide that he kicked 3 goals playing in the forward line, and I was at that game too.

And like I said in my previous post, I totally agree that this role suits him better.

Where we differ is that I don't believe his role in the forward line should be to play on the oppositions most attacking half back as they will run off him too easily. His role in the forward line should be to use his creativity and skills to set up scoring opportunities.

A player like Carazzo would be better at taking the opposition's attacking backmen out of the game and Betts better at applying defensive pressure to keep the ball inside our forward 50.

Am i the only one that can't remember what type of a player

HADLEY is.

Does anyone have any footage

I had him in my dream team this year so watched his games with keen interest.

Can't help with footage, sorry.

He was always going to be much improved with those games and a full pre-season under his belt.

Yeh defs houts in the foward line. Him and Hadlee i thik are two diffrent players. Hadlee is more of a defensive midfilder while Houts i believ is much more suited to an attack midfiler HFH position

Not this is at all relevant to this thread, but I just thought everyone should know: Houlihan is better than Carrazzo.

Feel free to abuse me, but deep down you all must know this is true.

Go Houlihan.:thumbsu:

Long time since you started a thread on the player you claimed you knew was going to be traded. How's your good mate Pratt's car washer. Troll!

I think that he will be moved down to the HFF where he can use his skills to destroy opposition backlines.

But I agree, the youngsters coming through in the next couple of years will make it hard for hoops to hide anymore and he will have to start contributing more to the team. I think that he will do this without a problem on the forward line.

Betts >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Houlihan.
:thumbsu:

Betts should be playing in the FP with stints in the midfield relieving one of our midfield guns :)

Hoops is definitely a HFF but should be in a position of forcing the oppositions best HBF to play on him.

This should allow Betts and Carrazzo to run amok on the half forward line.
