From the start I thought Tarasi was way better than any of the others in vocal ability and still do. The song she did tonight was ok, song choice and delivery seemed a bit reactive to criticism which she shouldn't have got sucked into.

I have warmed to Natalie though, and think all round she is the best performer - connects with the audience well.

Matt was better tonight with a song he was comfortable with. before that, it was annoying how the judges kept on about his voice which I don't think is great.

Carl - don't like his style.

Marty - good boy band type, quite talented.

There was a MASSIVE difference between Tarrassi's choice of song and the others song choice though. It wasn't the worst, but the Veronicas were so last year it is not funny to be honest. My sister whom is at the prime audience (she is 16) hates them as they haven't released anything recent. Look she said to me "why is she doing this song"..now if someone whom will vote is saying this you have to question teh song choice. Tarrassi could have chosen a million songs that were not by the Veronicas and she would have been a million times better! Her wig was horrid as well!

I think Matt is showing his age lately. He's had a dummy spit or two, and last night he was a sook wanting to make excuses after 20 seconds. It wasnt that bad, but Idol being 50%+ a popularity contest i dont think he did any favours to his chances.

Natalie was a great Idol performance. But imo, it has no real world credability. You can't sing the 1st verse like you're Mariah Carey with the RnB BS vocals on a rock classic, and then in the rest take on a rock chick persona, which she isnt.. (Sweet child of mine?). But in the Idol world, it was great, and probably makes her favourite to win it.

Marty was Marty...I think while the others dig their own graves, he's going to slide on by to be top 3...

Tarisai..Most interesting 5 minutes of Idol i've seen. I really liked her confidence and attitude up til tonight, but now i see what everyone else is saying...And given that you have to be liked to be voted for, she's in trouble.
Funny about the judges criticising her for saying 'thank you' after each comment, thats all the singers ever say! All of them!

Carl, proves you dont have to be a good singer if you're decent looking and inoffensive.

I reckon Matt is in huge trouble, absolutely huge. I was wrong last week about Tarisai who was 2nd bottom, but signs arent good for Matt.

Just an interesting thought...Donovon and DeRouge were dumped after 1 album by BMG, if the winner of this series doesnt do anything, and the rest don't either, i wonder if they will continue supporting the show.

What an effing disgrace! and some of the people on here are even worse. Tarisai didn't handle herself well? what a load of BS, i think considering the circumstances she handled herself very well. If she says she was being real with that song, then who the hell is anyone else to say nah sorry, don't believe you, they're not inside her head or her heart, so they're in no position to tell her how SHE was feeling or what she was thinking. Then of course when Carl steps out, and bores us all to death, he gets applauded for "sticking with what he knows", in other words he can consistently put us to sleep each week, so that's a good thing.

It looks like we're getting another year of White Idol, i wonder which black girl will be grilled next year? Seriously, i'm pissed and i don't mind saying it, tonight just proved what a joke Idol is, when a song is actually put on the back burner, so the judges can have a whinge about how they believe someone should act. **** Kyle & **** Mark!!

Tarasai has been awful since she did the awesome Queen cover.

I agree, she was over the top and horrid tonight. As i predicted the anger took over her and she forgot about the singing part of her performance.

She's done her dash.

Matt looked extremely pissed off at himself on his piano performance but it was still a good effort.

Absolutely spot on about Tarasai. I thought she was the standout performer, but since then she has been average at best.

I think Natalie is easily the best and is growing with confidence each performance.

Contrary to what alot of others think on here Carl is also reasonably good. Something a bit different.

Good summary. I agree with all points.

I still like Matt but his age is showing in his lack of confidence. He has the world at his feet - he just has to not be so hard on himself.

As for Marty ... butched another song last night ... he surely has to go!

That is anything but a damning statistic. For starters, you have a sample size of 6. Secondly, they are all from the same family. Different demographics yes, but undoubtedly an inappropriate sample.

I think in terms of natural singing ability - just singing - Tarasai is far in front of the rest. When you include all the other stuff she comes down to the pack and probably not even in front. I didnt see last night but her last few weeks have been poor, whilst Matt and Natalie improve each week.

If Marty makes the top 3 it will give every single Australian the confidence to go out and try and sing. If he can almost win a singing competition then anyone with a voice could do the same.

I think Matt or Natalie will win it now...whereas 4 weeks ago I said Tarasai was a shoe-in.

I agree. Too often she is shouting not singing. Hardly something I really want to listen to! It is quite painful to watch half the time. I don't mind her but she isn't the best entertainer, Natalie or Matt are. Pretty obvious top 2 this year.

Just because Tarisai has been horrid and you still can't see it, there's no need for at least one of the sentiments being expressed in that post.

Would be best to take that sort of rubbish elsewhere.

Agreed as well. Her 'shouting = singing' philosophy is a deadset bore.

And yeah, Natalie and Matt are the top two of those left. Quite easily. Ben should have made the final three as well, if the voting had been any chop. Daylight the rest, although Carl and Marty have improved a hell of a lot lately.
