Also i guess there could of been a chance of jail time, which would take pratt away from his blue president employment and a return would not to the blues high profile president employment wouldnt look good to the business world or sponser being overly pleased put at risk sponsership... just my thoughts mate

If you mean gaol time (we are not American), then no......there was no chance as it is not a criminal offence but a civil offence.

This may change but ATM you'd be wrong.

VISY's actions have hurt VISY, they have hurt Pratt, but all the evidence would tend to suggest uit hasn't hurt Carlton, and as such, hasn't brought the game of AFL into disrepute, and as such the AFL would find it very difficult to uphold a charge........

Compare that to the damage done to the AFL by players taking drugs.............
How many kids are asking their parents why they can't have WCE number 9 on their back........or why they should take down the Poster of cousins from their bedroom wall........

This hurt the brand deeply at all levels.

How many kids know who Pratt is?
Apart from fuelling supporters and Journo's who like to take pot shots at my club, what evidence is there of any damage to the brand of the AFL or Carlton?

lol. Absolutely. I think a Hawthorn Supporter Insecurity Nerve got panged big time. BTW the irony of a Hawthorn Supporter talking about "illegal activities" provided a few good solid laughs. I guess it all means little ultimately, as they'll be merged with the Dees in about 5 years, once the AFL finishes up North.

At least you were right about the "". Fraud is a criminal matter. Price fixing is not. Therefore price fixing is not fraud. That may change in the future (personally I doubt it), but it isn't and has never been.

FFS i never said that the hawks had been sucessful in last 10 or 15 years, we are on the up on at the mement and a supporter has too enjoy it whilst they can.

As far as the drugs go i am totally with you on this and i hope the afl take a harder stance on this matter. I personally would like any AFL player found with illegal drugs in their system, to have a 12 month ban the first time and compulsary rehab, the second time a life time ban. I don't care if it is a hawk or a Blue, this is one rule that should apply to all!

If a president was found to be doing the wrong thing financially by a company he was director off, then whats to say he wouldn't do that to the AFL club he was involved in? The last thing any afl club needs is to be ripped of a member of it's management, especially one such as a president. Would you want to sponser a club that had diffulties keeping track of its funds?

That may be true, but we can dish it out all we like on here, and you have very little room to return fire. It would be the same with us over on the Hawthorn Board.

Me get back on track, im just answering question being throwed at me by your mob, hence one of them was a mod.

If your management dont get off feild and on feild right, you have no chance in getting a flag in the comming years. The afl become strict with off with salary cap breach and as of next year player off feild behaviour will be held accountable by every club.

1. Presedients job, to get money legally, if you have no money you have no players and no admin.

2. Recruiting management, if the finance department gets it wrong, this section lose valuable picks and needs to be accurate with any picks left.

3. Very good chance off feild behaviour could cost clubs premiership point or draft picks.


The hawks appear to have one and two under control, with a few rumours flying about off feild behaviour but no evedience to sugguest it is any more serious than the other 14 clubs (wce in big strife, larger problem than the rest at this stage).

Carlton needs to keep an eye on its president who is supose to be leading the way and setting an example. Recruitment is improving and id be thankful that they got ride of lance whitnall, i dont think his weight had much to do with why carlton let him go (i know he had a dodge knee, but he had that for years) i think his public saga with his brother cost him a few more years at AFL level.

I believe if you have a problem in one of these areas it effects the other, look at wce its finally caught up to them and oh just ask the remaing fiathful fitzroy supporters how there management got it so wrong.

The hawks arent perfect, they where on the slide and they relised just in time to save them self, for know theyre getting it right. I dont believe the Afl want as many team in Victoria as it has so life for us vic clubs is going to get tough and we all need to be aware it will be survial of the thoughest and best management.

My god, you have stepped over the line so many times in the name of debate but the problem is that you do not listen to response and keep perpetuating myths.

Quite frankly, calling a mod a 'nob', talking about cheating and criminal activity, wishing us to stay on the bottom etc etc, is the epitome of being disrespectful, the very factor that earns infractions.

People were civil to you initially but now you are just being offensive and ignorant. I suggest you stay out of this thread and off this board from now on.

Yes but you didn't just concentrate on one poster, you had a go at the club in general and there are posters here who don't want to see that sort of thing on their own turf.

I believe that as well MHF, however, it is quite different on team boards here on BF. You have to be respectful to the club, and not resort to personal attacks to the posters of that team.

It is completely different on the main board, where it is pretty much open slather.

I suggest you read the guidelines that ODN posted, which is now a stickied thread before you post on this board again. If ODN, or Bee for that matter, has not infracted you, you should consider yourself very very lucky indeed.

I all ready did hbf: spoke to ODN in pm, i made 1st contact. We exchanged friendly words and i think he understood my logic. No have not been infracted. also read this, in the blues rules,

Carlton supporters

* You do have the right of reply against opposition supporters, however if your response far outweighs what you are responding to, warnings or infractions may be handed out. Let's remember kids post here too.

* Abuse of fellow Carlton supporters may incur an infraction or a warning.

* If you are found to be an opposition supporter posing as a Carlton supporter, your board access will be removed and enough infraction points retrospectively incurred for trolling posts, to ensure you spend a spell on the sidelines site wide.

This board has increased its traffic greatly in recent times and with that increase comes an increase in troublemaking and trolling.

We will not always catch everything and we may not act on everything, however the onus is on the posters to check their own behaviour, not the moderators to be 100% consistent (although that is our aim). If we spend a couple of hours cleaning up rubbish, then we may not be as forgiving of breaches as we would be if it had been quiet recently.

A long time reasonable poster may not incur the same punishment as a new poster who has always pushed the boundaries. You make your own reputation and may occasionally be judged based on that reputation. They are the facts of life.
