Don't know about you guys, but i am absolutely pumped about this round 1 game. I think i may be a lot closer than expected, with some good footy to be on show, just remind ur players to bring their game, because I want no excuses when we prevail..............

Yeah i'm pumped too, we haven't won for a while so it should be good belting your team by 7/8 goals. Should be a homely feel for you guys being 16th after round 1, right back where you left off last year, and when we do beat you don't bother with excuses we already know your pathetic. Enjoy your practice matches at training at least half the richmond group will experience a win.

i think your getting way to ahead of yourself. Do you honestly think that your team will be 7 - 8 goals better than ours? Considering we had a close game last year, and both our lists have improved equally, do u think that your saviour judd will really have the impact of 5 goals. Remembering that the ruck supply will be poor and there are doubts over him with regards to that groin of his...............

Just the first line makes me laugh, seeing as round 1 has been the centre of all topics numerous times.

Not having a go at the guy who created this thread, but good god i hate Richmond and their fans. I hate them more than Essendon, and with a family riddled with Essendon supporters, thats saying something.

7/8 goals i was being serious, Judd will have at least that much influence (5 Goals) maybe not off his own boot but the influence on our young team will be. How can you say that you have improved equally that is a load of crap and very funny. Close game last year who cares, you never go by the previous year in AFL these days it means nothing. After the first half a dozen rounds this year all you richmond supporters will go quiet again, but not to worry look forward to speaking to you in october when you will be talking up your team again with false hope and far fetched dreams...

If tambling is playing: carlton by 100
if tambling isnt playing : carlton by 99

We will kick your sorry ass from here to next season. Maybe then you will have some hope of getting off the bottom. have fun Biatch!

DAM I AM SO PISSED. I wanted to get a seat in a box for this match but i rang up the seating advisers and some old senile man told me that richmond were in the box seats.

Never take Richmond games for granted. Hopefully we'll win and win well but people talking a walkover win, don't know Carlton/Richmond history. I didn't see many Tiger games last season but I was very impressed with their win over C'wood. I've rarely seen a side keep the ball alive as well as they did that night and I was expecting them to fall over in the last. Obviously, they won't bring that form to the game so early in the season but I wouldn't be so cocky. I'm sure both supporter groups will be keen to see how their team goes with four points up for grabs.

I'd like to have a dollar for every time the favourite's been rolled in a Tiger/Blue clash.

didnt richmonds best player play in a grandfinal last year... for port....

fact - blues played 15mins in round 1 last year & beat you. drop in judd sticking them down fevs throat at least what, 5 times for the game for another 5 goals & watch them rise & pump your rabble.

coughlan coming back from a double knee reco will take some time to find his feet with the pace of the game now so he's not going to win it for you.

Blues were one of the top scoring teams last season, with judd adding to the midfield, stevens now back & no real tagging for murphy do you not think we can add to that ?

fev had personal issues & several injuries & still kicked 60 odd goals, do reckon he may play a bit better (like in 06 when he won the coleman) now ?

tiges have done nothing at the trade table to fix a weak list, & i've heard that no. 2 pick is still seeing a counsellor trying to get over being picked up by the worst team in the afl....

You keeping that avatar until you've officially weirded out the entire board? Major shudder material.

We've added arguably the best player in the competition to our list & Richmond have added McMahon & Morton & you call that equal. Amazing!

Cue Parrot, Gilly72, HBF et al. Go hard.

Rightio then.
The only forseable problems I can see Carlton having is with Richo and Brown in the forward line. We have struggled to match both of the these guys in the past, and I doubt that 2008 will be any different. Carlos will take Richo, and will no doubt match him for athletisism. Hopefully Carlos will get a hand from his fellow defenders when the ball is coming down.

As for Brown, this may surpirse, but i'd like to see Banno get a job here. He did very well against Brad Johnson last year, and then followed that up with a great game against Chad Cornes.

Should be no advantage in the ruck, but with Carltons superior midfield, I would expect us to get on top early in that department. Judd, Stevens, Simpson, Murphy and Carrazzo will be far too strong for whoever Richmond can throw at us.

Up forward, I would expect Fevola, Fisher and Waite (please play him forward) to be too good for the Richmond backline.

Prediction: Carlton by 25 points
