    Analysis AFLX

I have no interest at all in AFLX and probably won't even bother watching any of it. I still don't get all of the angst that it seems to be causing. To me it's similar to Big Bash cricket - aimed not at serious supporters/grown-ups but at 10-year-old kids. Fortunately, it doesn't go for two...

    Analysis AFLX

I don't think there's any way the season will be shortened because television really helps pay for the game, and if there's less games played they'll want to hand over a lot less money. I wish the season could go for a bit longer (waiting through this very boring summer of cricket has been...

    Analysis AFLX

Clubs certainly wouldn't like State of Origin; if there was a SoO game on tomorrow night we'd have had heaps of star players pulling out with "injuries", just like used to happen with those games back when they were last played, and just like has happened with AFLX. Maybe once in a while they'll...

    Player Watch James Aish

James Aish did this ^ 6-7 years ago (when he was just 16), in a (senior) SANFL Grand Final. He has the talent to be a star player at any level. He has lots of talent. Whether we're not playing him in the right position, or the player is just not performing for some reason, I don't know! I hope...

    News Collingwood Media

Wonderful to watch that! I really hope we are making a difference to people's lives in that part of the land - we may well be. If we can score a good player or two from that region it will be a nice bonus!

Preview Which of these players is most likely to have a breakout year?

Yes, I totally agree. It would be nice to have a 'superstar' CHF, but even if one did come along there should still be a place in the team for Mihocek.

Preview Which of these players is most likely to have a breakout year?

Yes, he kicked two goals in the Qualifying Final against West Coast. He had: 13 disposals, 6 marks, 2 tackles and kicked 2.3. He tends to make a reasonable contribution even on "ordinary" days, and I'd be surprised if he wasn't playing regularly again this year.

Sad to hear that news. We don't have many decent contributors around here, and he was obviously a major one.

Analysis Who is the biggest club in the AFL?

I absolutely think we are ahead of the competition, and by a fair margin the biggest club in the AFL! Others may come and go, but we don't need to rely on having a good (onfield) run to stay at the top (off-field). As for onfield affairs, it would be nice if people could adjust their thinking...

    Training Apples' Training Threads 2018/19

It's interesting to read that article, as Wells seems reasonably confident about his fitness: Collingwood’s Daniel Wells getting ‘confidence’ back in his body as he eyes early-season return February 18, 2019 Collingwood midfielder Daniel Wells says the past month of training has given him a...

Analysis Who is the biggest club in the AFL?

There's been three flags in my lifetime, but I was just one in 1958, so I've only really "seen" two! I'm hoping to see a few more before my time runs out. A run of two or three wins within the space of just a handful of years would help make up for some of the "wasted" years! The competition is...

Analysis Who is the biggest club in the AFL?

After seeing the 1958 win, he saw just two wins (1990 & 2010) in the 60-year period between 1958-2018. Adds up to me!

    Player Watch James Aish

I think he has it in him to take that next step, though he needs a bit of luck for once with injury. If he doesn't establish himself soon he could end up plying his trade in the VFL or at another club, so I hope he finally arrives as the player we hoped we were getting a few years back. Seeing...
