I think the problem is he doesn't have any agression at all. He doesn't have the tank to play half-back. I was hopeful for Ash and will back him while he's contracted, but I can't see him turning things around anytime soon and worry he will 'go softly into the night'.
You and me, both! I'm a huge WHE fan. He is always 'there'. He provides gut-running like no other. The number of times he presents to provide an outlet for others in the dying minutes of a game is just phenominal. Couple that with his aerial ability and sure-footedness and you couldn't ask any more.
WHat was pleasing to me was that Nick seemed a little 'off' in the first quarter but managed to work really hard to get involved and then, ultimately, control the game. His work rate, dedication and belief is outstanding.
I suspect that once the 'panel' make a ruling that a player is deemed 'unfit' to play should a player choose to continue then there would be all sorts of issues around liablity and getting appropriate insurance coverage. If this 'panel' is independent, then there should be no issue for the AFL -...
If Eyre gets a run of luck with his hammies he would be the 'next cab off the rank' which should be at or before the MSD. In any case, I can't see a guy coming from what is essentially suburban footy to an AFL list.
Coming off a premiership year makes it less concerning but I agree that all of our veterans should constantly be under pressure to hold their respective spots. Pendles getting close to 400 certainly demonstrates his class and professionalism but he should be haveing guys line up behind him ready...
You don't actually expect journalists to be master linguists these days, do you?
Clickbait generators, nothing more. Paraphrasing Denzel Washington 'You gotta be first, you don't even care about being right, just gotta be first'.
I actually think that a suspension is far too severe. A fine, maybe. Community service, perhaps. Undertake councelling or an education program, sure. But a suspension is too far. Especially when compared to the precedent with Clarkson.
Kossie Picket jumps and collects a guy in the head - 1...
NFL players are so covered in protective gear and sh!t that they would never risk bleeding, and if they did, it would never show!
There were many players back in the day - Francis Bourke comes to mind - that would have been in trouble if playing in the 'Blood Rule' days.
That's a bloody long bow to draw (pardon the pun), suggesting he might cop a fine. If Darcy wasn't bleeding (blood flowing) but rather had blood on his person and it was wiped away he would be free to continue. Jordy demonstrated acute awareness of the situation and good on him for that.
I...
Jordy wiped Darcy Cameron's nose for him. If he licked his finger first, he'd be like evey mother that ever walked!
I want to know why the AFL feel justified in asking for an explanation?
