    Opinion Matthew Nicks: Adelaide's Coach (Part 4) - Re-Signed to 2027...

    No Nick's plan A didn't work because players fault. It's not that Nick's needs a plan B C and D

How?? Saying it's rubbish is just bullshit crap posting if you don't post why. Post why?

its a certainty he wants all defensive minded mids...an attacking mid is a liability to team defense centred game plans.

The finale was good for all the loose ends they had to tie up. A lot of characters so I can understand peoples reaction to season 5 as a whole. Im not sure you could expect much more to be honest. Will be interesting to see how successful the prequel series is. I probably wont watch it.

    Opinion Matthew Nicks: Adelaide's Coach (Part 4) - Re-Signed to 2027...

My gut feel is Nicks is 100% like Sanderson, players not in the side have no idea what to do. This has been hinted at several times over the years. This was why the club ousted Sanderson because of the lack of communication to players outside of a select group. This has all the hallmarks of the...

    Opinion Matthew Nicks: Adelaide's Coach (Part 4) - Re-Signed to 2027...

To successfully transition with efficiency through the rolling zones you need a fast yet balanced run and carry game. The Crows are too rigid for this and take minimal risks which is coaching instruction.

We know this. The Crows Board know this but fear it.

    Opinion Matthew Nicks: Adelaide's Coach (Part 4) - Re-Signed to 2027...

The media bought the "Inexperienced Coach with a team full of inexperienced teenagers" narrative hook, line and sinker and gave Nicks a pass with the players being blamed for years. Even at times last year the club tried to use this narrative and even tried to change it to building continuity...

    Opinion Matthew Nicks: Adelaide's Coach (Part 4) - Re-Signed to 2027...

Ahh but they also fear a current coach will have success somewhere else. Which is what the Crows fear. The PR fall out of lets say Nicks being removed and then getting a job as head coach at GWS lets say and he wins a premiership...he wont in a million years but the pr fallout from such an event...

    Opinion Matthew Nicks: Adelaide's Coach (Part 4) - Re-Signed to 2027...

basically the Crows have no interest in removing Nicks. They can just buy players, win enough games to have fun at their long lunches and know the happy clappers will buy memberships. Its a business. Winning a premiership doesn't make money.

Does enough to be extended basically. Modern AFL is essentially this. Everyone is afraid of the unknown it seems and will just hit and hope with the same coaches over and over again.

    Opinion Matthew Nicks: Adelaide's Coach (Part 4) - Re-Signed to 2027...

No the Hinkley comparison isnt a direct Nicks v Hinkley. Its the Adelaide v Port Adelaide. It is a marketing exercise more than coaching. If Nicks continues to push finals and we can keep buying players on the trade market to wall paper over cracks the club can just keep the status quo. I dont...

    Opinion Matthew Nicks: Adelaide's Coach (Part 4) - Re-Signed to 2027...

Close losses on the score board are misleading and honestly the only time a loss can be called honourable is when both teams play a cracking game but there has to be a loser. To me we havent had an honourable loss all year. close loses yes. Every game we have played where we have come back is...

    Opinion Matthew Nicks: Adelaide's Coach (Part 4) - Re-Signed to 2027...

They wont sack Nicks. The unfortunate and brutal truth is our board craves positive PR over everything else and Im 100% sure they plan to keep Nicks at all cost until it becomes a PR nightmare to keep him. They want to Hinkley him is my feel. Good enough to be competitive, knowing he isnt...
