the problem is that the pick we traded out ended up going to the Cats who took Max Holmes. And there was mail at the time that we liked Holmes, but he was gone by the Allison pick. We really should have held firm on the Hiiggins trade and given a second rounder!
We are getting Tigers at a good time.. 14 injuries... Of course quality is important as well but they have out:
Baker, Balta, Hopper, Lynch., Prestia, Gibcus
Then they have tests for
Martin, Grimes, Graham. If any miss it is another big blow to them..
So this week, I would say that ourmajor...
Yes Melbourne told Grundy the same thing regarding playing with Gawn, They had previously pulled the same trick with Preuse. The reality was that they both played magoos, as back up for if Gawn went down.
Can any of the draft watchers tell us why Garcia barely featured in any mock drafts or draft rankings?
It seems the saints rated him highly. I think it was stated that we had Schoenmaker in the second round.. and we obviously had GArcia ahead of him
We seem to watch the SANFL very closely, so his efforts there were almost certainly crucial in us taking him... So good on him for working hard when he was dropped from the senior team.
Not sure what you saw.. I saw a guy in one final kick all four of his teams first four goals, then set up their fifth ... i.e. play a one man show to keep his team in the game, which they went on to win.
I also saw speed, agility, goal sense, good kicking and more importantly, the ability to...
somehow we have turned pick 13 into Wilson, a predicted top 10.. plus Liam Henry !
Paid our F2 for henry but got back Adelaide F2 for nothing ... basically got Henry for free
Then used Gresh pick for Collard .. hope he can be as exciting
And basically swapped Coff for Dow
So a great effort...
We seems to be in an awkward spot. The top 12 (outside academy) seems pretty set and then it becomes messier... look at Twomey top 20 rankings without academy. I would be happy if any top 12 slid to us. After that will we go with Edwards? I doubt we take Hardemen. Who knows though, maybe Toce...
I agree that we could try trading with Geelong if Sanders is still there at 8 .. but i also guess it would cost a lot.. Geelong will demand more like
In: 7, F2nd
Out: 13, F1st
I also doubt we would pay that much but i would say that is how much it would cost.. making it. a low likelihood deal
looks like this years Elijah Hewett.. as with Hewett he has:
1.already shown he can contribute at WAFL level as an u18..
2 good size.
3 good footskills.
4 good agility
5. seems a genuine footballer.
May be around our range.. Hewett went at 14 last year
Is this because the cats want George Steven (who played for their vfl team) and think they can get him with a later pick... so want to get something else as well?
where can they drop to and still safely take Steven? pick 13-15?
Option 2 makes far more sense than Option 3.
In Option 2, bombers have Gresham, 32 and still have 8
In option 3, Bombers have Gresham, 51 and 13!!
Why would Bombers prefer 13+51 than 8+32??
Option 3 is daylight robbery for us...
option 2 is already a great deal for us and hopefully Bombers...
I dont think we will end up with 13.. we need to give something to Bombers for creating the existence of 13..
Maybe 12+13 to WBD for 10 and 17?
Make to difference to WBD because they will give those picks to suns
Send 17 to Bombers for Shiel and 28
So we get a upgrade from 12 to 10 plus 28...
But surely
Bombers
In Gresham +32
Out Dylan Shiel
Is a win for the Bombers.
You wont get 32 for Shiel in an open market. If you rate Gresham at pick 40, then surely must rate Shiel at 50+
