Although I agree, development at the Gold Coast has been less than ideal, and would be a good player to target potentially. Ainsworth was never a star mid at u/18 level.
Always was a small forward who showed glimpses of midfield potential. Not much has changed tbh.
Tend to agree, feel we are a runner short, particularly playing in Brisbane’s heat.
I quite like the idea of bringing fisher in, and using him as the playmaker. Which leaves Saad to play a more defensive role on Cameron.
But like you, I trust the those that have got us here.
Also, excuse...
The good news is we won.
The great news is we have a lot we can improve on.
We have real quality to bring in to this side…. Who you drop I have no idea.
I’m starting to think Acres is a masochist and actually enjoys playing through pain, Docherty not far behind him.
Anyone here still...
Highly disagree. He does settle, and he does get better as the game goes on, but imo he gets better as the intensity rises. Has nothing to do with the game slowing down, or his ability to play at a high pace.
Swings and roundabouts….
Last year we lose the last two games of the season, both by the smallest of margins. The bounce of the ball goes against us and bounces over Motlop’s head, Langdon gets the ball and kicks to the square, Pickett goals, we lose.
Ginniven’s block on Saad doesn’t get paid...
He will learn defensive nuance as he goes, but for mine, you take the good with the bad, and good far outweighs bad right now.
You can’t fist pump and cheer when those things come off and lead to goals (toe poke last week is good example), and then bemoan those things when they don’t come off...
Not taking anything away from Boyd, but d
Fisher has gone well past him.
His kicking is elite and his ability to manoeuvre the ball along the ground to his advantage in a contest is a hugely underrated skill. Similar to Saad in that regard.
Hope we keep him.
