    AFL Player #37: Nic Martin

I reckon the move to half back was a good one. Great for the team and I think he continues to improve week by week. He's hardly battling back there. He's probably top 5 in our B&F right now. Its only 6 weeks in, in a new position. Could he be better on the wing? Maybe but I just think how...

AFL Player #22: Sam Durham - Pendlebury confesses to soiling himself - 26/5

Who else loved the tackle he did on Rankine (pretty sure it was) in the last quarter? It was a thing of beauty.

AFL Player # 8: Ben "Goblin" Hobbs

I think Hobbs is building nicely to be honest. Expectations have kind of raced on a bit ahead of where he's at but he's still only just starting his 3rd year. Plenty of development of and improvement to come. The ongoing challenge for him is how can he be impactful when he doesn't get to spend...

AFL Player #23: Harrison Jones - God-tier Hands

Agree with this. Stringer or Langford are our better options to play as the deeper forward compared to Jones/Wright as they don't get outbodied so easily. Wright is perfect for leading up to about 55m out because of his long accurate kicking.

Preview Round 7: Essendon vs Collingwood, MCG, Anzac Day, 25/04/24 @ 3:20 PM

Would love to see Hayes in for Laverde and Wright in with Draper rested. I'd be looking to rest both Draper and Goldstein (alternating) over the next 2 weeks personally (with our next game being in WA). Since we happen to have all our taller forwards fit right now might as well take advantage of...

Coach Men's Senior Coach: Brad Scott

Durham as a midfielder might end up being the move of the season and unlike moving Langford forward last year (which was amazing in terms of impact) it wasn't forced upon us due to injury, he actually started training him there preseason. Week to week though there is still a lot of variance in...

AFL Player # 3: Darcy Parish

I don't reckon he was too bad and if he had converted his chances in front of goal I think we would have a very different opinion on his game. Give him a bit of time to get some confidence and form and I've no doubt we'll see a better version of him.

AFL Player #13: Nik Cox 🦄 - Skipper called him 'the Unicorn' in an interview (confirmed!)

Maybe its less obvious than with Jones but he's definitely building with some consistent time out on the field without injury which he hasn't had in a few years. It seems like he's still being used as a bit of a utility - which does kind of make sense given his unusual attributes but we'll see...

Roast Essendon in no mans land

Our draw is much harder to start this year than last year, very surprised we are on the positive side of the ledger. Last year we had a very soft draw to open the season. Besides Hawks everyone else we've played is a pretty respectable side that wouldn't surprise if they made the top 8 and...

Opinion North Melbourne Priority Picks Part 2 - 2023/2024

Priority picks do not make a terrible side competitive in the short term. They are a medium/long term fix. 3-5 years. If you pick the right player. Its kind of laughable that we are sitting here saying "oh yeah they really needed them because look how bad they still are" when actually the...

AFL Player #22: Sam Durham - Pendlebury confesses to soiling himself - 26/5

When I first heard about Durham spending some time in the midfield preseason, I didn't think too much would come of it. I just thought we'd have another player to send through in rotations. The way he's going though - he could become one of our main mids in time. I always knew he had a...

AFL Player #23: Harrison Jones - God-tier Hands

Seeing him in this game compared to round 1 was like a completely different player. It wasn't like everything went his way but he just kept working and working and when he had chances he took them. In round 1 he seemed to be so lacking in confidence that even if the ball fell into his lap 15m...

Preview Round 4: Essendon vs Port Adelaide, Adelaide Oval, Friday 5/04/24 @ 8:10 PM

That Port Adelaide forward line is honestly way too tall. They might make it work because of our personnel issues with no Ridley/Reid (and because we are only a mid range team) but I doubt they are winning finals playing that forward line. Opposition teams will walk it out of there. Great to...

    AFL Player #19: Nick Hind

All these people saying play him as the sub but honestly I reckon he could straight up do a better job than Menzie in the same role. Deserves a crack at it.

AFL Player # 2: Sam Draper

its great to see his running and explosiveness back. Its taken a bloody long time but at least they seem to have finally sorted him out. Lets hope for some consistency from here.
