I agree to his talent comments.
I just can't subscribe to the defense as something that can develop.
The players that hit to hurt have an attitude that is between their ears, and often doesn't become ingrained in "jumper grabbers" and players who avoid the hit.
Watch the games, those who will...
McInerney is talented and fast!
BUT seems to lack any real committment when the opposition has the ball, not much pressure and very little sting in any tackles made.
He's 203cm!
BUT only played footy for a couple of years.
Spudding it up? Maybe, but only 15 spectators a week see it.
The 'best' ruckman are usually surrounded by the 'best' rovers. Maybe it's an indication of the workrate at stoppages rather then his tap work?
But the Vic teams pull their stars out, the NEAFL has no continuity nor a great deal of acceptance from players who are playing for their contracts, and training with your local club becomes impossible due to tues and thurs academy training.
Not really a good way to show off your talents.
Would...
So a Qld coach and Sheehan, and several other vic selectors.... hmm Allies need to be chosen by those who have seen them play over years, know what's going on, and the results will come.
But no, if they are not seen in the specific games in their 16s and maybe 17s, maybe injury, maybe an off...
My contention isn't statistical, they are founded on the expectation that deserved players play, injured players are given time to recover, admin remains professional about the way they speak of players to other players and that the players who don't make the grade are those that are simply not...
Here is the point.
You and the Academy see the Swans as the only port of call, so decisions made have been detrimental to the player's opportunities at 17 other clubs.
As pointed out before, the Swans academy should at least be on par with the draft numbers produced by GCS and Lions academies...
Word is, all of them were gone if not drafted.
Academy prospects going into this year know that 2 draftees are already in the Swan's books, and the 30 people that turn up to NEAFL games have no scouts watching. Whereas, with 2000 people watching the SANFL each week will hold spaces for scouts...
Sounds like an issue.
Was there more then the 99 atar that allows him to do anything at uni?
From what i can gather from several at the coal face, a couple were told they would get late round offers and rookie positions, and are now looking elsewhere too.
