Seriously good night. A few blokes under the pump really delivered; Jack Macrae with a clear game high 12 score involvements. Rory Lobb with a clear game high 9 inside 50s. Bailey Dale with an insane 874 metres gained.

He's struggled with his body over the past couple of seasons and just hasn't strung consistent performances together at VFL level. Has had 2 very strong games this year, another good performance or 2 should see an opportunity come his way.

Another curious factor about nominees to date is that no-one from last year's draft has been nominated yet. If we had 3 nominations in a row, including the first nominee from last year's draft, that would be a real feather in our cap.

Every year a handful of players and personnel come and go and best 23s and tactics are refined weekly so refresh, evolution and rebuild are just semantics. Change is constant.

There are plenty of bad ones, but the clear worst for me is Dwayne Russell. The insane hyperbole starts immediately and never lets up. I rarely last more than 5 minutes with the volume on when he's calling.

If English and Darcy are firing at the end of 2025 and we can get something for Lobb at that point, it'd be a win. He'll have served us well.
