Agree. May need to cough up overs but if we rate the kid that high then do it. If we finish last next year our insurance is in the form of a PP at the pointy end.

The club will no doubt have a plan here. They will know the value of his Richmond contract and I suspect they know it will be enough to trigger compensation. Otherwise, rather than lose him for nothing we have plenty of room in the salary cap to keep him.

I’m with you on this. Seems to be pretty good depth in the draft down to the mid 20’s so anything inside the top 25 we should be keeping including a potential Dumont compensation pick.

No need to even bundle him into a deal. Out of contract, Victorian, limited opportunities at Freo and only 23. If we could pick him up for peanuts or walk to the PSD, it will allow Campbell to be VFL captain. The club seems to still rate Xerri highly, but if there is any doubt, not the worst...
He did commentate half a NAB game at Sandringham earlier in the season before diving to Bendigo to watch another NAB game on the same day. He watches plenty of footy, just doesn’t get right all the time (which is no different to many recruiters).
