    Mid season draft 2024

Good player, tough as nails, nice left foot, leadership qualities. Has the size to be an AFL mid (189 94kg) . Probably overlooked due to lack of leg speed and while getting good numbers, doesn’t get huge numbers in the midfield. Played across hb yesterday was very good

Player Watch #27 Thomson Dow - signed to 2024

Big improvement last night Actually won clearances against very good opposition. Like some others I’m not sold on him, but credit where credits due, well played

    Player Watch #45 Hugo Ralphsmith

Last night was a tick for a guy with plenty of crosses Can he play with that work rate and commitment on a more regular basis? Still have my doubts, but happy to see change on both the wings. Let’s find out if we’ve got the player/s to play what’s a pretty tough role

Soft cap TI !!! Can’t p!ss them off when they are still contracted. Well you can, but their salaries ( or a % ) are included in the cap . AFL love a fair and equitable competition 😄

Trade period / National Draft 2024

Probably would have got more last year at the trade table than we’d get this year if he was to leave as a FA. But I’d hate to be the list manager, that traded out one of our all time greats

That’s true, Bolton, Dusty, , Lefau, maybe a couple from our small forwards. We’ll have to scrap goals. But if you let Gawn put it down the throat of Petracca, Oliver and Viney all night the ball won’t get into our f50.

I think Nank while still playing ruck will play forward a bit more. Can’t see any other reason you’d play Naismith infront of Ryan, unless you wanted to nullify Gawns ruck work. Naismith ain’t a forwards a’hole. I know Nank isn’t great forward either, but think 2 rucks is more about trying to...

    Neither does Naismith.

Is that what Yze has said? I missed his presso. I’d have thought he will play a fair bit of ruck time.

Maybe Nank plays more forward minutes, with Naismith in. Nank has always struggled with Gawns height. Nank and Lefau forward, hopefully at least bring the ball to the ground and don’t let May and Lever intercept everything

We’ve got to try and identify our next wingmen, but not sure who on our list is next in line. I don’t rate HRS, Banks is not ready, Clarke injured. Ross is injured. Maybe Smith? But he’s just finding his feet as a small defender, it’d be a tough first up gig for a guy that’s really only in his...

I agree , Banks is not ready. And against Melbourne who have a lot of good contested ball players, he’ll struggle. Dow and HRS too.

Banks and HRS playing. No McAullife. Just don’t get it!! Must have Pickett playing a forward role, given we’ve picked 4 wingers . Have no issues re Naismiths selection. His form has been outstanding, and you can’t let Gawn dominate hitouts to their midfield

News Jack Dyer Stand may go in $60m Punt Road Oval redevelopment

State and federal Government’s should be fitting part ofthe increase Why? because when they committed to this project, they were committing to a % of the project. Building materials etc have increased by 60% , so should their funding Well that’s how I’m looking at it through one yellow and one...
