How long did we actually hold on for? Five minutes under extreme heat? Controversial finish or not, that takes some serious mental fortitude under serious pressure.
Interstate wins are rare for this footy club, so I’m enjoying this.
Always love a quiet Dyson Heppell thread. Great game. Lost track of Higgins a couple of times, but so did Redman. Some of his efforts in the second half were huge.
Thought he had a decent game. No abhorrent disposal errors. Dropped an absolute sitter that resulted in a goal but other than that, deserves to hold his place. Terrific leader back there.
I doubt Parish has hit a target by foot all night. Absolute liability with ball in hand right now. Needs to improve dramatically if we’re to get close in the second half.
I think this is one of those complete write-offs. Obviously you review it on Monday, but the sooner we move on, the better. The ruck situation was always going to be an issue, and our midfield haven’t adjusted all night. Disappointing performance.

Heppell was sensational. Backing back into aerial contests with complete disregard for whatever or whoever was coming towards him. Played within his limitations when it came to his disposal by foot, and that contested mark he took with roughly a minute remaining cannot be understated. If that...
