List Mgmt. 2026 Trade and List Management Thread

Pies are trying to buy their way out of this list hole they’ve found themselves in. No serious young talent on the list bar Daicos and their senior players are getting on and they know it.

    Analysis Rick's Analysis (The Shinboner)

From what you wrote it sounds like Wardlaw missing was even more detrimental than we first realised. As soon as Smith and Simpkin moved off the ball and Parker went in they started getting ascendancy around the stoppages which I doubt would have happened with Wardlaw on the ball.

Player Watch #32: Toby Pink - contracted end '26

I still feel like he’s next cab off the rank of one of our key backs goes down. Dawson is nowhere near it right now, just a young kid in a man’s body still learning the rope and Goater just needs continuity, I wouldn’t be pushing him into the seniors until post bye at the very earliest.

Player Watch #32: Toby Pink - contracted end '26

If we get to a stage where Pink is last picked in our backline it’s a very VERY good position to be in. He’s shown to be a solid contributor who gives 100% and sticks to his role, you can’t ask any more of your depth than that.

Player Watch #7: Zane Duursma - 15 goals so far in 2026 - Two year offer from North to Zane - Cal Twomey

At the game it’s apparent they’re playing him as the deepest forward a lot of the time which is hurting his ability to get into the game. He seems to also be setting himself up for the float across the pack for every long kick inside 50. He battled well and got burnt a few times but I’m not...

News Kookaburra Sports - North's official apparel partner

Have it on good authority that the club is very pissed at Kookaburra for screwing up the shorts colour

Player Watch #3: Harry Sheezel - 23 AFL RS/NM SBM, AFLPA BYP, '24 AA squad, '24 AFLCA BYP, '25 joint SBM winner, '26 NMFC VC

Harry is a victim of his own standards, his form at the end of his second year was nothing short of phenomenal and he barely missed in front of goal. As he’s moved more into the Centre bounce rotation, his effectiveness by foot both around the ground and kicking at goal has definitely dipped...

Player Watch #20: Nick 'Souva' Larkey - 2026 NM Captain

I’m not saying he didn’t have a poor game especially by his standards but blokes calling him a fraud after one poor performance against the best key back in the comp is a bit ‘chicken little’ if you ask me

Player Watch #20: Nick 'Souva' Larkey - 2026 NM Captain

Gee whiz some of you blokes are harsh markers! Playing on arguably the best full back of the last 5 years, fresh off a suspension with a big point to prove is as big a job as you’ll find for a key forward. If he kicked straight you’d all be lauding his performance

Player Watch #2: Finn 'The Finn-isher' O’Sullivan - Tassie reportedly targeting FOS & Sam Lalor in a "package deal" - will be "hard to rip out"

It’s strange that the club is still using phrases like ‘could be hunting for a replacement’ in their In the Mix article like they’re not sure that he’s even missing this week

Whitlock starting to get into it, Haynes is still a good defender so it will be a good chance to test himself

Player Watch #3: Harry Sheezel - 23 AFL RS/NM SBM, AFLPA BYP, '24 AA squad, '24 AFLCA BYP, '25 joint SBM winner, '26 NMFC VC

We can’t have Sheezel, Simpkin, Powell and McKercher all spending large chunks of the game on the ball, they are all liabilities defensively and West Coast showed us up by waltzing out the front of the stoppage time and a time again. Breakeven in the midfield and our defence has a chance to set up.

Player Watch #47: Cooper Trembath - signed end '26 - 17 goals in first 7 games - Rising Star nom Rd4 - re-signed until the end of 2029

I did notice during a preseason training clip that Trembath made sure he was first to the drinks between drills so he could hand them all out for his teammates. It’s little things like that that make me positive we’ve got a good one on our hands.
