Smart by him to go for two. Gives him plenty of time to continue adding dollars to his next contract, and also has his contract expire just in time to be eligible for free agency. He's a Crows fan and a local lad so I don't expect he'll go anywhere, but he may as well maximise his leverage. -

I think the reality is that Dowling is a midfielder, and we don't seem to see a spot for him. Given that we can't even seem to find midfield minutes for a player like Rachele who is crying out for time in there, it seems that the likes of Dowling and Edwards are just square pegs in the round... -

I'm not a close SANFL watcher, but to me Ryan seems like yet another on our long list of players who are kind of good enough to play some AFL footy, but don't seem likely to move the needle. Our depth is broad but not very deep. -
