    List Mgmt. 2026 List Management

Have we picked accumulators? I don't really see many accumulator types aside from Jagga and Walsh. Even then it's maybe too early to say on Jagga what he is and he certainly isn't a volume ball getter yet. Cripps has been an inside out bull for most of his time, but has never been a natural...

He wishes he had hands like Cas - if he did he'd have taken mark of the year about 4x by now - which leads me to he's about 350x more athletic that Levi. I don't see a lot of similarities outside of not being able to kick a ball with any level of confidence or dependability at all.

"What we need is elite ball users who are also very fast" Wow, that's a ground breaker... we should get on this before other clubs realise that's a dream combo

At this point in Cripps' career the value we'd get by moving him on/trading him isn't worth the disruption and leadership gap it would leave.

Official Club Stuff Carlton Academy - Next Gen & Father/Son/Daughter Discussion II

You have just described the exact issue with northern academies. I know you're referencing Vic, but the work the Northern academies have done has genuinely grown the game in these regions, in particular QLD - and even more specifically, the Gold Coast region. Then there's the new cultural...

Official Club Stuff Carlton Academy - Next Gen & Father/Son/Daughter Discussion II

You'd have to ask the AFL mate, but they've been telling people for a year or so that they're coming.

Opinion The 'Carlton related stuff that doesn't need it's own thread' thread Part 3

Correct, and even further, I believe Carlton won't even know the results. Only those involved in the drugs program at the AFL, and potentially the AFLPA. I suppose it could also come down to strikes, of which no one knows those, either. Having said that, the longer this is going the more I...

Official Club Stuff Carlton Academy - Next Gen & Father/Son/Daughter Discussion II

We've known this is coming. Yes the AFL has dragged their feet and have been very amateur through this whole process, but we can't be surprised now. The only silver lining (if you can call it that) is that we may not even need to match a bid if things keep going the way they are...

Based on current rules you have to match with your earliest picks, if he's bit on at 1 or 2 (assuming were at 3) we'll have to match with 3 and whatever the next pick is, which is the Swans pick. We may get lucky and it works out, though. Hopefully that's the case.

    List Mgmt. 2026 List Management

I think we identified we needed youth and certainly targeted early picks, which is a good start, but we haven't actually had many picks overall, so we still need a at least 2 pick heavy drafts to get the quantity in. Issue is getting the quantity, and if we have to give up 2x firsts for Walker...

Glad I'm not the only one that notices the worm Clark is. Robbo may have been a blubbering mess half the time, I feel like he had some standards at least. Clark feels a lot like a tabloid journalist reporting on sports.

It takes longer than 3 yrs to rebuild these days, particularly with extremely compromised drafts coming up

    List Mgmt. 2026 List Management

But like I said, I think the point about trading him is more about what we actually view as the best outcome. Do we think we should be winning more games next year and actually are a finals list just with mismanagement? Then you're exactly right, we shouldn't trade him and we should look to fill...

    List Mgmt. 2026 List Management

It depends on our view of the next few years. Holes in the list isn't an issue if we are in fact about to rebuild - in the sense that the point of rebuilding is to holistically rebuild the list with the aim to fill holes with kids to develop into better. He's not the player his reputation...

    List Mgmt. 2026 List Management

I initially started the post based around we've failed him from a development perspective, ended up taking it out, so am glad you mentioned it. He went from young intercepting and reading the play defender, then we threw him forward and completely ruined his next year or 2. His lockdown play...
