    Essendon’s Marvel deal concluded at the end of 2024. They don’t have a long term deal there. Hence why they got 5th homer at the G this year. Alternating the extra MCG with Carlton every second year alternating. everything will change again in 2038 obviously.

    True. Still would’ve been a lockout though (imo). I was just using this one as an example. I’m sure over the last 20+ years there would’ve been countless examples of these types of encounters between top 8 sides, early in the year as is the case with marquee games, that would e closed the gates.

    They don’t always pump up crowd numbers. For instance, this years ANZAC Day game would’ve been a total sellout whether it was ANZAC Day or not given it was seen as an even contest with high stakes (until the first bounce!!). There have been many of these marquee games that over the years...

    I’m not totally across what’s going on with this game regarding tickets. Seems to be selling well. I think GA members now have access… They’ve sold out all tickets in Ponsford top deck. They’re selling back of Q10-15 so I think the GA areas will be Q1-6 (back sections) and possibly back...

    It might be but under the circumstances it was ok. Big 4 clubs have drawn in the 18-22k range on days where the sun was out… Dint get me wrong it was a crap crowd but given the forecast and the how the side is going 25k is borderline respectable.

    Tickets selling well. Issue will be club members show rate. It’s likely the game that could be for the wooden spoon and a 50/50 game. Who knows, they might turn up coz it’s a gory spectator worth pick one in the draft!
