    That was the big difference Q1 in this game and the Hawks bring it every time. They hunted us unrelentingly and it set the tone early on.

    I was in that group - couldn’t see it working as he didn’t seem to have the awareness/computation speed to make it at AFL level early on. I’m very very happy to have been wrong on that one. Kudos to the coaches and Arty - his development is exceptional.

    We were (and are) desperate for a KPD at that point though and he was seen as the consensus best KPD in the draft. I think we need to keep trading them in unless we can poach whoever keeps finding them for Adelaide to join our recruiting team.

    Our talent identification is absolutely excellent however - Dalrymple level IMO. We wanted both Reid and the Wizard and just missed on both. I think Hynes will be a decent player - not the same level as Reid but gee it’s good to know we had targeted both and really just bad luck missing them...

    Could be exciting for Sanders. He’s played all his junior footy as an extractor. I’d be taking the opportunity to give him a lot of mid exposure to see how he steps up.

    If we are better than 4 and 4 with the injuries we seem to have I’ll be happy. It’s a long season and I’m happy to take a few on the chin, get the boys right and go again. The system clearly works better but we will be really challenged if English is out for an extended period.

    We are winning by 40 and will be on top of the ladder the ONLY undefeated team. This board seems likely to storm Whitten Oval with pitchforks and fire if we ever lose a game. It hasn’t been pretty but Geeze people need to get some perspective on where we sit!
