Game Day Round 6, 2024: North v Hawks, 4pm Marvel

There seems to an outbreak of pessimism on this board. I expect a win. If not there is always next week.

    Review Round 4, 2024: Box Hill Hawks v North Melbourne, 20 April 2024, 2.05pm @ BHCO

Butler is a bit of an enigma to me. I just get the feeling he has more to offer than he has shown to date. Has he been typecast as a small forward because of his brother? Can he play a midfield role? I don’t know but he puzzles me. Maybe he needs to move clubs as he has a few small forwards...

Dear just keeps on improving. Great contested mark. He will make AFL. Max Hall BOG. Great game.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Calsher Dear!

Calsher needs more time at VFL level. If he continues to build his game he may get a cameo in the firsts later in the year. He is clearly not ready in my view and it would not be in his best interests nor the club’s to rush him in.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn, Sam Frost. Extends to 2024!

More a reference to the opinions of some on here who appeared to believe he wasn’t even good enough for the magoos. Not my opinion.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn, Sam Frost. Extends to 2024!

Frosty’s comeback has been Lazarus like.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Lloyd Meek

A bit of competitive tension between Meek and Reeves is a good thing and should bring out the best in both.

Player Watch Welcome Max Ramsden, Pick 6 2022 MSD - Debuts!

I will put up my hand and say I didn’t think he was AFL ready yet as a ruckman and I still do. However, his contested marking has been good in the VFL and he has some forward craft. Yesterday’s effort by Ramma deserves mention as I thought he looked more at home than I was expecting. The speed...

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Lloyd Meek

Credit where it is due, Meek was great today. It was almost as if he brought his VFL or WAFL game to the AFL and realised he belongs there. I hope he continues to do so.

Autopsy Round 4, 2024 : Hawks get Pied

You have to respect the way our young team came back from 38 points down at half time to almost win the game. That was a massive fight back and exemplifies the character of our guys. It should fill them with the self belief that with a bit more experience ( and a couple of KPPs) they will be...

    Game Day Round 4, 2024 : Collingwood v Hawthorn, 5:10pm Sunday 7th, Adelaide Oval

Fingers crossed. We seem to play well against the Pies so I am hopeful rather than confident. My Collingwood supporting mate is always nervous when they play us.

Game Day Round 3, 2024 : Hawks Vs. Cats Easter Monday edition

Great fight back. When we can put it together over four quarters we will be a serious threat. Hoping we maintain the pressure

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Calsher Dear!

Looks a promising kpf but still has a fair way to go. As others have said still a bit low production at present but has strong hands, a good contested mark and kicks well. I wouldn’t expect him to play AFL for a while but if he continues to improve at this rate he could be a good footballer...

Review Round 2, 2024: Geelong Cats vs Box Hill Hawks, 30 March 2024, 11.05am @ GMHBA Stadium

Good to see Maginness silence a few of the criticisms today. He really produced an all round game which he can build on in the AFL rather than being a one trick run with player. Needs to improve his skills a bit but made some good decisions today.
