Yep, he's a true Swans and foootball legend, and it's an absolute fckng disgrace what he's had to endure, an indictment on every fckng tool who tried to rationalise their own treatment of him, or indeed the whole saga. No individual player in the history of the game has had to cop the intense...
My first Swans game was at the SCG v Richmond in 1984. Take what you want from that ... Big Footy is a forum for debate, this thread seemed to generate a fair bit of that. You and several others were obviously interested enough to engage, even if you disagreed, that's the point of all this, but...
You're so astute. I started following the Swans only AFTER Franklin joined because I figured the Swans would win all the time and I like to get on bandwagons.
That's another issue, and a very good question ... there still seems a lot the AFL does in the shadows, particularly regards Sydney ... but it's always bothered me that the club seemed to just accept the situation imposed on it. Leaves the aftertaste of suspicion.

You're ignoring the potential damage the Franklin deal can do to our future ... you and several others are looking at it in best-case scenario, and already the vulnerability of that "best case" has been demonstrated. So what happens if it deteriorates rapidly from here? What happens if we can't...
We're about to lose several key players to retirement (over next 12 months), our depth right now looks less than convincing, how do we bolster playing stocks? If you're so optimistic, tell me right now what chance you honestly think we have next season.
If it's negative to be seriously concerned about the medium-term future of the club I support, then I spose I'm being negative. I completely reject the short-sighted slur; in fact, I'm arguing that my view is the long term. That deal is going to be causing us problems for years to come ... and...
