I think Sharp brings a bit of pace that we were really lacking when Young was out and gives us a different look. Brayshaw, Serong, Omeara, Erasmus are all a bit one paced. That's why the club want O'driscoll to succeed but unfortunately he's stagnated. Glad to see Sharp's WAFL form rewarded...

Does Simpson get enough of the ball? Seems to get 14-15 disposals a week at Peel, less time and space at AFL level so not sure he'd have much impact. Would love to see him getting 20-25 possessions a week at Peel and really push his case to get a run in the AFL.

Players develop at different rates, look at Wagner. If Sharp keeps tearing it up in the WAFL he deserves a run IMO. My point about Sharp being the new Brodie isn't that de-listing him was the wrong decision. It was 100% the right call. But it must be so deflating continaully being BOG in the...

I'm not banging on about Brodie at all but at one stage Young, O'meara, O'driscoll, Johnson and Fyfe were all out last year and Brodie still didn't get a run and we had role players going through the centre square. If you have 5 mids out and a 26 year old inside mid in the WAFL I think you play...

So Peel form counts for nothing? If Sharp keeps getting 30 and 2 goals a week it's just bad luck? 3 x 6 day breaks in a row coming up after back to back trips to Adelaide. Geelong are fantastic with resting players to make sure everyone is cherry ripe come the business end of the season. We...

Because Cox played well in the scratch match against Crows while Darcy missed a month with a calf and was under done round one.

I agree with you but JLo is stubborn. Can't see it happening. Just like Cox should have played round one over the under done Darcy, Sharp deserves a chance but is the new Will Brodie, and Freddie should have come back through Peel.

Prediction Round Seven Changes vs. Carlton

Jeremy Sharp had 30 and 3 last week and wasn't named in the 26. He'll be the new Brodie, regardless of his WAFL form won't be picked.

Their 1st rounder will be top 10 so unlikely IMO.

Pretty sure Chad is mates with Sharpe, Jackson and Clarke so there's an incentive there too.

They picked up their 2 rucks dirt cheap and would be paying them less than Darcy's salary combined though. They also don't have a 211cm Premiership ruck playing VFL while Meek/Reeves look slow and unfit at AFL level. The concussion could end up being a blessing in disguise, if Cox plays well...

Good call. It also illustrates how unprofessional the club was back then. Guys like Murphy, Campbell, Medhurst, Polak looked like they'd be stars of the competition then their development stalled.

I disagree and think it's an area of need this off-season. Pearce turns 31 in June and has had injury issues. Cox turns 28 in August and has had soft tissue issues. Oscar McDonald is 30 and struggled round one. Draper, Davies and Murphy look a long way from being good KPD at AFL level. If...
