I believe the rule applies to 'bottom five sides', not picks 1-5.
So, if the rule is still in place next year, I think picks 2, 4, 6, 7, 8 would be eligible for compo.
This is going to sound weird, but I see him as a Gryan Miers type (and I mean that as a huge compliment, I am a huge Miers fan), especially how Miers played a couple of years ago.
