You’ve seriously gotta stop, BA have clearly put a lot of work into this and everyone who has played it has said it’s massively improved, of course there’s still work to be done and aspects to be tweaked but it’s pretty clear that those who have played the game are saying it’s fun and those who...
Played my first few games post patch:
Damn this is fun, just about everything that needed improving has been massively improved.
The quick kick at goal mechanic is gonna take some getting used to but it’s hopefully made snap/banana kicks on the run actually usable.
My second game I played as...
I don’t think this will be their actual AFL guernsey just the ‘foundation jumper’ for their early pre-AFL years and honestly, that makes a tonne of sense, if they unveiled their actual jumpers today, those jumpers would be 3-4 years old by their first AFL match.
That pattern would make a great...
That’s my concern, if you took away the clunky stuff the game would be easy 100 point wins every game.
I’ve only really started using the advanced controls to add an extra layer of challenge, stuff like the player movement momentum system actually is a good idea if they can get it working...
I agree that the handballing could use some sort of aim assist or something because you need to be extremely precise.
I don’t mind the button combos being used, especially on the harder difficulties, because that’s realistic, sometimes you have to handball up and over an opponent.
This isn’t an issue if you handball out in front of the player, I’ve noticed the handballing is incredibly sensitive to direction so if you want to handball and keep the momentum going, you’ve gotta handball out in front of the receiver.
There’s two different aspects to this:
on one hand the movement has clear issues with the stuck in the mud problems
On the other hand, the gameplay can feel clunky af when you’re not using the advanced controls, even in twisties recent vid he was complaining about constantly handballing into...
Their engine is perfectly fine, their other sports games never suffered from these movement issues so hopefully they’ve fixed it.
From playing the game, I can see what’s probably causing the problem, a lot of the player movement is about keeping up momentum so if you handball behind your...
Disagree, I’d even like to see West Coast wear the gold jumper with blue shorts for one home game a year.
But the navy wings should be in their set in some capacity (royal, gold and navy), I don’t know what purpose it would serve but it looks good.
Yeah I don’t believe for a second that the ochre didn’t win that vote, I’ve been saying for a while that west coast take themselves too seriously to wear a “bad” retro kit like Freo did with the 3D anchor.
Most AFL games have been average at best and they keep making them.
As long as there’s a studio interested in making an AFL game, the AFL will give them the licence and if big ant continue to be interested then the AFL won’t pull the licence.
It’s also worth considering that the initial...
Games are ridiculously difficult to make, especially an AFL game, I don’t think it’s laziness at all but more so that it’s an issue that’s proving difficult to fix.
It’s easy to sit here and say that “this should be in the game” and “that should be in the game” but like I said, it took WW 5 or...
Takes like this are just ridiculous, if you aren’t a game dev how can you possibly say it’s lazy.
This in-depth tactics stuff was never going to be in the first game of a new series, it took WW 5 or 6 games before they got any half decent tactics and ai movement around the ground.
AFL 23 has...
