I like Cox forward, especially with Jackson in the ruck.
Cox has done his hammy playing CHB, being nudged in the back didn't help today, but think he was still at risk of doing it playing in the back line.
I cant believe they didn't learn from last year. Loading up on first round draft picks in the hope of chasing another "unicorn", whilst one of our leading goal kickers in Shoota leaves. Watch Treacy leave as well now.
I hate us being big players during trade week. Certainly don't want us trading Darcy for a talented, but unproven forward.
When we describe players as "Unicorns", you are giving the media plenty of bait to provide ongoing commentary.
We did fall down the ladder this year, we have to expect...
I think we will finish between 7 and 14.
We would have to have a terrible run with injuries to finish below 14.
2-3 players like Chapman, Odriscoll, Brodie, Johnson and Eramus would need to become solid B + players. And we would need 2-3 more players like Cox, Amiss, Young to become All...
Did we apply for draft pick compensation this year? We haven’t won a premiership in 30 years. Players we have developed at our academy have gone to other clubs. We haven't received the same father son benefits as Collingwood and Brisbane.
There's no hurt is asking, is there?
Would love to know why more effort isn't put into convincing Cox to play forward. Hamling, Pearce, Ryan/Chapman are reasonable down back.
Amiss, Cox, Jackson/Treacy are a reasonable forward line.
I would be focusing list management decisions on getting another quality midfielder.
Either side could have won that, happy with the effort we put in.
Young and Jackson make a midfield look better.
Serong's last contest probably an example of the difference between the two sides. Just need to consistently display that little bit of composure and class to be beating top 4 sides.
Agreed we have made some abysmal trades, this one is up there with them. Picks 4, 13 and 22 for someone that wouldn't be in the top 6 ruckman in the competition at the moment.
My point was, that Erasmus and Johnson were never going to be able to cover the loss of Mundy this year. When we were negotiating the Jackson trade we should have been aware that there was a strong chance we would fall down the ladder.
