Have a two or 3 round knock out competition every two year with the two teams left playing a 3 game series as per NRL play the following year.
Also Get rid of ACT out of the NSW/ACT name, just call it NSW. Just let the ACT players play for NSW.
Like NRL play AFL Country players versus AFL City...
I hear the Rugby League fraternity is going to stage a Rugby League World cup for women.
If RL can do it why can't Aussie Rules? There are probably more women playing Aussie Rules than RL in the world.
It wouldn't be as one sided as you may think with all the Irish, English, American and...
The so called 2nd tear states should be kept as separate teams. But I don't see why we persist with keeping the ACT separate from NSW. The Rugy codes don't seem to do that when they have their state of origin games.
I'd suggest a knock out comp to find the top two teams, then play a best of 3...
The VFL, SANFL and WAFL invented the concept. Every year I'm frustrated with the Rugby League world run their state of Origin competition.
The AFL could run a SoO knockout with all the states (combining ACT with NSW and please just call it NSW). The final two teams each year could play a three...
I think it's just you? Just saying... I think Lumumba's issues were never adequately addressed. So until they are Lumumba has a right to bring the up. So when will they be adequately addressed? Lumumba will probably have and should have the final say on that.
I watch these international forums and Ruby League types usually get on and troll. I've never understood why such people bother to take the time to troll an otherwise good discussion. They just go out of their way to say bad things about the game with no foundation. I don't get why they just...
What about just "Rules Football". But we need something that encompasses the free flowing skillful nature of a game is also very tough physically, and tough to master skills wise. I actually heard a NZ person refer to it as "Rules".
Didn't it used to be called Colonial Football way back before...
Come off it... Rules footy, that is Australian Rules is played in more countries than Gaelic footy. And Ireland is not actually part of the commonwealth is it?
Anyone got opinions on where they should play the games for the next IC cup?
I'm thinking they should use Punt Road as the main IC17 ground, and use the other local grounds in the area, such as Gosh's Paddock, and Olympic Park (Collingwood's training ground?)...
I'm going to Punt Road today to...
I haven't been able to get to any games so far, but that doesn't mean I wasn't keen. Are taking my two boys to the Women's Final at Punt Road (I'm a Richmond member) and then maybe over to the 'G' for the Men's final. I encourage everyone else to show support and front up to the games...
It might not be as big a stretch as you think...
The commonwealth countries that play Australian Rules off the top off my head are... not in any particular order..
Australia
England
Scotland
Wales
Fiji
New Zealand
India
Canada
South Africa
Nauru
Papua New Guinea
Hong Kong
Tonga
Samoa
Perhaps...
Hey International Rules Football fans...
I was listening to the radio just now... and apparent Quiditch from the Harry Potter movies is now a real spot, and the announcer made the quip about when it was going to become a sport at the Comm games... as a 'Quiditch' game was played between Canada...
