I don't think we need a young ruck. We need a mature one and there's nothing much out there. Our midfield needs to dominate to protect our defense.
I suggested we should bring in either Reeves or Marshall last trade period and got laughed at. I wonder what those people that laughed think now.
I don't disagree that Carlton's development is poor as well. But it can be both.
As someone that follows the draft, I don't think they make good choices. O'Brien in particular was allergic to contested ball and was a good chance of becoming a bust for that reason. Picking him in the top 10 was...
Our recruiting is much better too. Petrevski Setan, O'Brien and Dow were poor top 10 picks for Carlton. These are the types that at the very least need to be solid B graders. Some of the other 1st round selections are not great either.
I don't think Silvagni and Nick Austin are any good at...
Not surprised to hear this. I think West is even a tad overrated and I expect him to go late/rookie if at all. There's not a lot that stands out to my eye, not as talented as Rhylee.
El Souki I had in the 25 - 40 range at the start of the season. I actually think Marial is the 2nd most talented...
JOD was upgraded from Cat B to the main list. We also had 1 extra player added to the list due to Weightman's injury so we had to cut one extra player off the list.
We have no players on the Cat B list.
I think it's decision making rather then kicking issues.
I'd keep playing him, we need his competitiveness and desperation. Hopefully his ball use continues to improve over time.
It's not ideal, but Freijah and Libba spent a lot of time forward and will have to spend more time in the midfield. Hynes and West can chip in also.
I just have very little faith in our ball use back there and see it as a necessity.
Hawks were pretty lackluster in their pressure, pretty hard to take much away from the game. Our defending seemed a lot better, but our ball use out of our back half still needs a lot of work and is very noticeable without Dale. I think Richards has to play back if Dale is out.
