This was a terrible result for the AFL's efforts to reduce concussions. Basically said it's ok to concuss someone as long as it's a football act. Duty of care doesn't exist anymore.

They don't call it downfield. They just award a free kick to the nearest player where the ball lands or goes out (15.12a).

This makes no sense to me. So, we're saying it's ok to push a player that is kicking it, but once he's kicked it, that's an issue. It makes no sense.
