He is the best player on our list. Three consecutive 30+ disposal, 10+ tackle games. That could be a record. He averages the most tackles per game in the comp this year, and is the 4th highest in average disposals.

Looks good when he gets it but not getting it that often. Probably still a bit behind in his fitness.

Seems to be doing less tackling and more getting the ball this year. One cancels out the other to an extent, but I think he's taken another step forward in his development.

Just to elaborate I would have put him in our top 10 best players. Was having more of an impact than plenty of others.

Looks like the defender experiment is over. Struggling up forward too, but a small positive impact is preferable to a negative one. A lot of improvement required just to become a half-decent player.

Just trying to describe where he's at. Most young key forwards tend to find it difficult early on in their careers, so I don't really think it is that harsh to suggest Close is struggling to make the grade at this stage.

Rather than comparing him to a team full of teenagers, perhaps a better comparison would be his own standards. Was it far from his worst?
