With the Sydney teams the major factor is the geographical distance. And because the Thunder are close to a large Indian community...

    The Thunder return to the Showground for the first time this season. Tickets are sold out for the local derby. Although the Thunder haven't had a great start, and there's a small chance of rain, hopefully we can get a good game.

    I respect the decision to abandon the game, but for the sake of the fans, would the captain's and umpires been open to a "hits and giggles" game with tennis balls? Absolutely nothing at stake, just fun and entertainment.

    I believe there's a standard clause in the T&Cs if there is no result. Regular tickets will get refunded, Members get a discount on next year's membership. Someone is going to lose a lot of money whether the Renegades or the stadium. They may or may not be covered by insurance.

    There's been a fair bit of promotion for next weekends Sydney Smash at the SCG. I'd be interested in comparing the spectator experience to that at North Sydney. One thing that concerns me is the availability of shade in the GA seating. Similarly the MCG could feel very empty for the Melbourne derby.

    Well AFL made no contribution to the development, I doubt Cricket NSW would be happy having other sports play there. I haven't seen much of the game, how did the new pitch hold up? It would have to be superior to Blacktown.
