    Player Watch Jeremy Finlayson

Peak AFL deciding Finlayson gets 3 weeks and Clarkson gets nothing.

Preview Round 5, 2024 vs Fremantle @ Adelaide Oval Changes & Pre-Match Discussion

Don't think they'll have Burgoyne as sub for a third game in a row. So he'll either take Boak's starting wing role or go out. With SPP back and MG working alongside the other 3 (taller) talls, McEntee might get a game as sub. Whatever he brings to the team that we don't see, he can probably do...

Preview Changes and Preview for Gather Round v Essendon

I know they're trying to preserve Dixon and not ruck him, but at 33, for what? So he can kick 19.34 for the season and we crash out in finals? His most valuable role is as a forward/second ruck. Not only is he our best second ruck option, but it also means we change our forward setup mid-game...

Preview Changes and Preview for Gather Round v Essendon

Great to see MG back! I like that we're getting a look at Sweet too. Very unexpected to see this happen together. This is around the point in the season when Ken normally goes shorter, not taller. It's clear the trio of Evans/McEntee/DBJ is too much of the same, so I like that we're mixing...

Preview Changes and Preview for Gather Round v Essendon

Nightmares about Finlayson rucking against Goldstein or Draper. No doubt they'll try anyway, I'm resigned to that.

    Injury 2024 Injury Updates Thread

Bad timing for Ollie to have a 1 week hammy. But not a bad swap it JFH is back, especially with Drew playing well the last few weeks.

Is Williams actually injured? If fit, in for Jones. If not, Jones out and Bergman back. Burgoyne into the 22 to take the wing. Some proof it's pointless playing McEntee and Evans in their same team, but I suspect their first 10 minutes means nothing changes there until SPP is back.

Review Round 3, 2024 vs Melbourne

The thing I hate about this most is the 'wouldn't change a thing' mindset from 2021 has crippled us. It's still there. Last week, Cornes suggested we couldn't have done more to work on goal kicking in the preseason and he isn't worried about the inaccuracy covered up by playing terrible teams...

Game Day Round 3 - Port vs Melbourne

I'm just glad to be watching Port play, without it being a Sunday afternoon.

Preview Changes and Preview Round 3 Power v Demons Saturday 7pm at AO

I'd say it's fairly reasonable to talk about the one player who just came into the team in the selection and preview thread.

I never said that. I think he should be in the team. But he's not competing with McEntee/Evans for a spot, and was in the team because we don't really worry about the position of the 23rd player. Just that there will be far greater reasons to melt over selections this season than returning to...

Preview Changes and Preview Round 3 Power v Demons Saturday 7pm at AO

The time to melt will come, but it's not returning close to the round 1 team in round 3 after 50 and 40 point wins when a player returns from concussion. Presumably Evans is sub and in 2 weeks JHF is back and SPP pushes McEntee to sub.

Player Watch Welcome to Port Adelaide Brandon Zerk-Thatcher

Not thrilled that our forwards coach is out there saying he hadn't seen much of a fullback who played 50 odd games for an opponent.

Preview Changes and Preview Round 3 Power v Demons Saturday 7pm at AO

McEntee will come back for Evans. Regardless, he probably gets pushed to sub when SPP is back. I'd leave Williams in, but he's probably competing more with Farrell, Burton and Houston than Jones. Against a good team, we're going to need someone to shutdown dangerous small forwards, and it...

Game Day Port vs Richmond - Boak's 350th

A few passengers, but Finlayson has to go out next week and should probably be subbed in the third if there are no injuries. You can't play a player this down on confidence. It's making it worse.
