Disagree. The Tassie Devils VFL was a successful VFL team in terms of crowds etc until they were aligned with North Melbourne. Then it fell over very quickly. Tassie would never accept a team that is not their own.

What would a team realistically trade for LDU. Pick 10ish maybe. North are not finishing that high next year. Zero benefit to them for trading him early. Free agent to the Pies seems a lock already 18 months out.

I saw a twitter post on the North board that if they lose the next 12 straight they will become the worst team over 100 games since 1900. And you think of all the spoons the Saints won, North and Hawthorn being terrible when they first came into the league, Fitzroy etc, it would be some effort...

Given our lack of access to the top end of the draft our list is in ridiculously good shape but what we lack is players with real elite potential which would make the difference between finishing 6th and winning the flag. Holmes is one of the few that has that. We will need to find others via...
