Hope you’re right. Just feels like we are losing Ryan and Cripps who were our two best small fwds. The rest are NGA’s and late picks. Quantity doesn’t make up for quality

Watching some of the Tigers draft videos I think they’ll want Sharp if we split with Essendon. They need to replace Hopper and Taranto and after all the talls they took last year I think they go mid. If we split with the Dons I’m worried we go CDT anyway. Then Dons take Duursma, Tigers Sharp...

Yeah somewhere around 20. Dovaston, NHH, Barker, Poo around that mark. Would love a good small forward. Or even better use it to trade up to take who we want

Or we could just take the two players we want and that fits our list needs the best, regardless of the supposed rankings. Otherwise we are relying on seeing what’s left after others have picked. Take the best two and then see who slides to the Hawks pick. Or even better use hawks pick to move...

You had me until the 2&15 for 5 & 10 trade. Don’t see the point in that. There’s a much bigger talent gap between 2 and 5 then there is between 10 and 15. Especially when 5 becomes 8 or 9

Sorry I must be dense. We're not asking the AFL to say that they can't match our offer, just that if they don't match it won't dilute our compo for losing Allen yeah? They still have the option of matching and forcing a trade regardless of what our compensation is for Allen. To me it seems like...

Yeah, I understand that but how does not diluting our free agency compo for Allen affect their ability to match?

This is the narrative I don't understand. I've heard Cal say it a couple of times. How does not diluting our free agency compo affect Brisbane matching the offer? I must be missing something because I don't get it. They could still match if they want to keep him, couldn't they?

How are clubs and the media not winging about the Lions. Premiers last year, prelim at least this year. Now they get the top 2 free agents, a top 5 draft pick and a priority pick handed out by the AFL. You would think the other clubs would be pissed if the AFL gave us a priority pick, just to...

Devil's advocate but it could also go down. They could let the two brothers do the recruitment job for them and try to entice Duursma back after his rookie contract. It will definitely be distracting talk. It would also put some doubt in Eagles minds about the go home factor.

I think of Kruezer a bit when I watch him play. Good all round footballer but not dominant at any one thing

Nah I agree with you, who needs a midfield anyway, we can just field a whole team of hybrids :thumbsu: Winning contested ball is overrated, we can revolutionise the AFL with a team of ruck forwards and back flanker mids.

Played forward pocket a lot. Also had a 20d, 7 tackle, 6 clearances, 1g goal game and 22D 12mark game to show he can present as well. Also as an underager had a 21D, 10 tackle, 1G, 5 clearance game in an elimination final

Sharp is better in the contest, better defensively, better overhead, better leadership, high iq and he has great hands too. All AFL traits. Disagree he looked out of place at league level. Played well forward with brief stints in the middle. Plus his underage game in the finals last year was...
