I'm not shocked by the controversy, but I am tired of it. Both sides make valid points. Sometimes there's no easy answer. It seems like these incidents often break the way of powerful Victorian clubs with a lot of media support, though.

Looks like: 'He's not trying to get any advantage! He'd put his foot back behind the crease! What's he supposed to do? Wait around for five minutes and ask the umpire if he's allowed to move yet?'

Apart maybe from Jesus, I cannot think of a person - fictional or non-fictional - with a better track record of getting people up and running.

Beyond that, they beat at the beginning of the season, and since then their highest-ranked scalp has been Gold Coast. Arguably getting within a goal of Port Adelaide away has been their most impressive result since round one.

It'd create too much tension trying to squish their names together. Just name them after the suburb between Carlton and Collingwood on the map, which is... checks notes ...Fitzroy.

The one that really gets me is St Kilda's move to Seaford. $3.5m in State Government funds, and $3m in Council funds, for the initial move. Then $8m in State Government funds a few years later, when St Kilda decided they didn't like it any more and moved back to Moorabbin. Frankston City...

We lost the contested possession count 157 to 149. I'd call that 'barely' rather than 'comfortably'; strong chance the writer mixed up the stats for contested and uncontested possession.

So it was a verb originally in Latin, and it's evolved over time to become a preposition? I guess the people who use it as a verb are being more faithful to its millennia-old legacy.
