Finally caught up with the early Brigette Bardot film Naughty Girl - a barely passable, sexist, light comedy that has her bending over alot, getting wet in bikinis and running and dancing around late 1950s Paris.
God, I loved it.
Flicked on SEN for the first time this year, and there's Terry Wallace predicting his top 4 - Dees, Pies, Tigers, West Coast.
'...but there's still plenty to play out.'
On that pearl of wisdom, might check back late Feb.
TBH, I've cut down my BF browsing and posting to about once a week since the recent upgrade. Chatted to a couple of friends about it on the weekend, and they're pretty much the same boat.
Simple reason - it's sore on the eyes, no matter if it's in light or dark mode. It's cluttered with too...
True, but if the heart and head ain't in it, it'll be a long, impatient year for Kelly, especially if we're not winning. I just hope the club has the strength of character to drop him if he starts to phone it in.
This really will be a defining issue for us this year - no idea how it will pan out.
Forgot to mention - the Tim Kelly factor is the truly great unknown for 2019.
They are all professionals, but it could seriously derail the season in a major way if it's not handled properly.
Which kind of reminds me how important Tom Harley was when he was captain.
Harry, Scooter and Ablett to start with, then depending on form and injury Henderson and I'm doubtful Cocky will ever play a full season. Smith won't have the patience to play a full season in the VFL if he's forced to on form.
Ablett and Selwood need to find settled positions out of the guts...
With aging stars, the lack of elite kids coming through, no clear edge in the coaching box and other teams on the make, I'm doubtful we'll make much out of 2019.
I loved the backline last year, but that was without a few of the old blokes. Will the coaches bring the concrete shoes needed at...
If you take a step back, figuratively, and look at the various threads over the year, nearly every one of them has degenerated to the same basic issue, with the same people repeating the same opinions on either side of the fence.
Sadly, this place has become an echo chamber and it's pretty...
Call me naive, but I just took it for granted these days that all AFL clubs had a at least one full-time psychologist on the payroll.
Considering the amount of time, prep and money that goes into each player, I'm staggered that's not the case...yet...
Birthday kills it. :D
I just love the idea of throwing up a 'standard' birthday song to compete with Happy Birthday (whose copyright is owned by Warner Bros. - technically you have to pay them to sing it in public).
The only track I have real trouble with is Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da - I find it's...
Like films, it would change almost weekly, depending on mood.
20 for today would include (and not in any order)...
* Kraftwerk - Man-Machine
* Brian Eno - Here Come the Warm Jets
* Fats Domino - Fats Domino Swings
* Julee Cruise - Floating Into the Night
* Nina Simone - Nina at Newport
I'm not saying it's my favourite album, just placing it as one of the key works of musical creation in the late 20th Century. It's kind of the point that there's throwaway pieces, doodles and frustrating head-stratches on there. Without Revolution 9, without Wild / Honey Pie, without (insert...
