Also wouldn't mind looking at John McCarthy (collingwood delist due to salary cap pressure) as a rookie. Been very solid at VFL level, although inconsistent in form due to a range of odd injuries - but nothing too serious. Hasn't been able to break into the 1's for a run of more than a few weeks... -

If Joey, is attracting as much attention as we hope he will, the smart move would be to trade our first rounder (say around pick 11) to anyone for a couple of mid second round picks (say 20 + a compo around 25). Then we still use our first pick (selection 20) on Joey and end up gaining pick 25... -

Pies on the table
Wouldn't mind seeing J-Mac or Caff at the bombers next year. Especially J-Mac. Should be a cheapy (3rd-4th rounder) and would fit well as an in-and-under mid. Young, fast, lots of potential and been killing it in the VFL - just needs a proper run in the 1s to find his feet.- Word Count: 57

Who would you have as our SUB and why?
Very much agree HFF. If its a close game and your 22nd player is not in the starting 21 for a reason - i think there will be coaches that elect not to use the sub. Best thing about this rule will be watching the coaches work out the tactics behind it. -

Statistical breakdown of 2010
Great post and really interesting. Looking forward to the 2011 analysis. Would be interesting to see if the other AFL teams had similar factors that were significant? Might be too much effort with the data entry though? -

Definitely agree with the last couple of posts that the team should be versatile, rather than the sub. Sub should be a midfield rotation/explosive type who can break open a game but may not be consistent enough for the starting 21. Dempsey, Jetta, NLM, or maybe a younger midfielder who is... -
