Autopsy Round 12 = Western Bulldogs 97-93 Collingwood

Teams can look a yard off the pace when they're getting killed in the middle. There are elite endurance athletes on our list, but we are missing burst players, who can create separation, like Bobby and Billy. I'd like to see the coach act on the realisation that we're now a middle-of-the-road...

Autopsy Round 12 = Western Bulldogs 97-93 Collingwood

In a team lacking pace, people want to drop Beau. In a team lacking kicking penetration and quality disposal, people are criticising Houston for a lack of physicality.

Reasonable post. Our game plan, injuries, & our list (namely Josh D.) have required him to play a different role; one that he hasn't excelled in. Let's zoom out and reflect on Houston's entire AFL career. Port was able to extract AA output from him; why can't we?

Fair observation, Domey. Pendles has a similar quality, as he never looks to be in a hurry. That style of play stands out more in defence, which is Dan's position. Neither of them will frequently crash packs. My position remains that Houston has attributes we're not taking advantage of.

You're doing Angus a disservice there, as well as the rest of the side, who would not accept being labelled mediocre. Nobody is praising mediocrity, but some can find joy in the endeavour and fight the players put on display. Doom and gloom is not an ideal way to go through life.

Autopsy Round 12 = Western Bulldogs 97-93 Collingwood

That was a good game of footy, always sucks to lose the close ones. The players care, fought it out to the end. Buller might not be the answer, but Long remains the big question. Ned is a guy with a limited repertoire; he is being murdered in the position he is asked to perform in. People...

Game Day Match Discussion: Round 12 vs. Bulldogs, Sat 30/05 at 7:35pm (Marvel)

100% I'm feeling very nervous about this game. The Pies are without a second ruck, a forward line that looks impotent without Jamie, and a defence without Pez and Darcy. I, along with everyone else on the board, will feel much better about our chances if you take out a bet on the Dogs to win...

Game Day Match Discussion: Round 12 vs. Bulldogs, Sat 30/05 at 7:35pm (Marvel)

I romanticise the idea of persisting with Charlie until he vindicates our faith, but you're right; he needs to go back to the VFL and work on his craft. As an aside, some might be looking too much into Membrey's performance in the VFL. He could have been instructed to go easy.

    Player Watch Bobby “Norm” Hill

I'm not aware of anyone claiming that when Jordy was f*king up, the club cut him slack because he's blonde and blue-eyed. Bobby is afforded every opportunity to get his situation right because he has won a GF for the club off his own boot. Talent like his is persisted with. This is not a...

    Player Watch Bobby “Norm” Hill

I take exception to this. A pro footy player does more than kick a footy for 2 hours a week. That's a snide remark and says more about you than Bobby. Finally, members do not pay a player's salary; the club does. Don't be so entitled. The club owes you nothing. Bobby owes you nothing.

    Player Watch Bobby “Norm” Hill

In the case of Travis Shanks, dear Bussie, I guarantee you his posts are not AI. I'm a little surprised because the post you called out is succinct by his prosaic standards. Regarding Bobby. Mate, there's life and there's footy. The guy is fighting to get his life and family in order; surely...

Toast Round 11 = Collingwood 92-82 West Coast

How many Hawaiian pizzas were served in Stalinist Russia, L? None. Back then, civilisation still possessed standards, but somewhere along the way, we lost our moral compass. In more disciplined times, fruit-on-pizza advocacy earned you a one-way rail ticket to Siberia and several years of...

Toast Round 11 = Collingwood 92-82 West Coast

I see where the post that you're responding to is coming from. Billy played tall, and Charlie has a ground-level game that belies his size. West can play as our third tall, a role Jamie played. But you're right, Elliott is a unicorn, and Charlie could not come close to filling his boots in...
