List Mgmt. Welcome Harley Reid (Pick 1, 2023 National Draft) Part 2

It’s just nice to see him settled, really. Those photos look like he is calm and measured; fully enjoying his time at the club and it seems like it’s aligning to his performance- albeit on the training track. He’s had one of the more unique entrances into footy for a while and we really...

Training Preseason Training Thread - 2026

I think the thing for Jobe is not to put a number on goals- I feel that in itself is not a reflection of a year. I feel for him his focus should be on his work rate. Making sure he provides a contest as a bare minimum and working to involve himself on the game outside of marking situations...

Training Preseason Training Thread - 2026

It’s really interesting - I’d heard some noise on Simmo towards the end he had changed & was getting particularly grouchy. Not necessarily surprising (or, unwarranted) given his level of stress and the performance of the team but I think it has to be balanced - players don’t respond to sprays...

Training Preseason Training Thread - 2026

Tommy Barrass came back from one preseason with some decent definition. If I recall correctly, when asked about it , Simmo then made a very cryptic comment in a press conference about making sure they weren’t just “muscles for show”

Training Preseason Training Thread - 2026

Tracks a bit with what was commented mid last year (and think we did see the shift mid way last year in his attitude compared to the start) where Mini commented a bit on his leadership and engagement. Especially with some of his performances which maybe didn’t have the same explosiveness as in...

List Mgmt. Welcome Josh Lindsay (Pick 19, 2025 National Draft)

Already turning some heads at training with kicking skills. I went looking for it but couldn’t find the article but it was relating to Lindsay mid year where his teammates mentioned they just ran into space because they just knew he’d hit them up. Whilst looking for it, I found this article...

List Mgmt. Welcome Tylah Williams (Pick 39, 2025 National Draft)

I think we believed Tylah would get a bid in the 20’s and so when we got to 29 with no bid it changed our thinking a bit and we took Allen instead. We would have ended up with enough points for Banfield I think if that had had happened. There were rumours floating he might have gotten a bid as...

List Mgmt. Welcome Tylah Williams (Pick 39, 2025 National Draft)

I was probably a bit annoyed on draft night to comment too much on Tylah - but now the dust has settled i am quite happy having him at the club. He’s got a lovely left foot kick - and seems like he uses his pace and agility on field which passes the eye test against his combine results. Might...

List Mgmt. Welcome Harry Schoenberg (2025 SSP Selection)

Really, if he stays fit- we don’t lose much really. At worst, he provides a stronger body at WAFL level and shields our younger crew at that level and he’s out the door at the end of the year. At best, he takes the opportunity of a second chance and plays some good footy for us. A free...

List Mgmt. Welcome Fred Rodriguez (Pick 1, 2025 Rookie Draft)

Love this pick. Thought we would have taken him with 29 so to get him in the rookie draft was such a nice surprise. I was watching the later rounds thinking that someone would nab him late and we’d be left regretting it later. We’ve spent the draft clearly with a desire to get some power onto...

Players who well and truly exceeded expectations

For my club; I think of the Jeremy McGovern that got kicked out of training for returning unfit with a career on the rocks to the player he turned out to be. Dean Cox could barely run laps in his first part at WC then turned out to be one of the best we had pulled on the jumper. Both...

List Mgmt. Welcome Josh Lindsay (Pick 19, 2025 National Draft)

It’s clearly why he’s slid, I think. Can he find his own ball at the next level where he won’t be hand fed? Because if he can, he’s going to be a terrific weapon. Then again, that same question was posed about Nick Daicos (who did spend a lot of his u18 year floating around packs) and the...

List Mgmt. Welcome Cooper Duff-Tytler (Pick 4, 2025 National Draft)

I’m sure it would be quite a confronting thought for an 18 year old to have to move across the country. So the family reaction of sorts is understandable. We are usually exceptionally good at making them comfortable quickly and have no doubt that will ease their concerns soon. But really happy...

List Mgmt. Welcome Willem Duursma (Pick 1, 2025 National Draft)

Really was enlightening to see him stand next to Harley. (who isn’t short by any means). He’s a tall boy, Willem. Going to be some sort of midfielder in time until he grows into his body. But for now- Stick him on a wing or HFF round 1 with spurts in the middle and never look back.
