Bumped Richard Stremski's "Kill for Collingwood"

I had a long chat with Richard Stremski quite some time back. He use to be very active and was involved in one of the pushes against an incumbent board. (early 90's). He said originally when he wrote the book the club was very very cold on it as it saw it as being critical and the club...

    John Williamson's play/movie "The Club".

Interesting that. In 1980 when I did an interview with him he suggested that he loosely based the play on the shenanigans at the club and just wrote up the characters based on his eavesdropping and observations.

Re: Fatui Ataata is not listed for a game from 1980 to 1985 however the following got games Wally LOvett Jon Hummell Terry Domburg and the guitarist from the band the "police" got a game for us in round 5 1985 Gordon Sumner.

    John Williamson's play/movie "The Club".

The play was written in 1976 and was largely based on the Ern Clarke Weidemann et al debacle. There may be historical resonances, but Williamson at that time was writing plays about situations and people who actually existed around him. He was more or less crafting plays from creative...

    Best available

The day's of having your own two's and a big list with the likes of a Tuck spending years in the two's developing are long gone. With the small list and no FULL reserves team there is no room for developments. Whoever you put on your list must make the grade in the shortest time possible...

It doesn't sound 'all good' if the graft hasn't bonded as well as would be hoped. How did that gem get into the public domain just before the draft??? Who would let a surgeon drop that clanger? I'd be furious if I put my name into the draft and my doctor said "Oh we have a complication...

But Pieman we already have enough medium defenders we need a very talented small defender or a med. who has the creative flash out of defence rather than just being a spoiler. Most importantly we need a top shelf CHB who can command, organise and creatively generate whip crackingly fast...

    James Clement or Shane Morwood?

    James Clement or Shane Morwood?

Jimmy's not there yet. Shane ahead in skills and jimmy needs a few more years of solid and consistent quality footy to equal Shane. Jimmy just hasn't got to the level or CREATIVE rebound Shane could generate. Early days for Jimmy not at Shanes level yet.

What would YOU like to know about our draft picks?

I'd like to see their mums kick a footy as that is where the kicking gene comes from.
