Beecken was playing midfield early. My stream kept breaking up, so I switched off mid second quarter. Look solid as always, a lesser version of Dunkley. First time I’d seen him play midfield. Generally a solid half back. Given how we are playing I’d like to see him given a run at afl level...
Pace and pressure killed us today, given Giants pressure was exceptional. Particularly obvious in the centre. Wheels came off and the carriage burst into flames.
Individually our midfield was ok in terms of possessions but allot were ineffective. Three one pace players in there is costing us...
Yes That’s true, Tunstill will probably not make the difference between winning and losing. However we’ve seen what Tunstill can do at AFL and while I hate to write off any player, imho he’s not on a trajectory like Bruce was.
Tunstill is generally in our best and highest procession vfl...
I agree. What is the difference between a year older Neale and a third year Lashcroft? You would probably still have Neale in front. But Levi isn’t a winger (imho) and giving him more on ball time should led to faster development. We also have to give Annable afl time. Medium to long term Neale...
And we still haven’t seen what Luke Lloyd can do a AFL level. He has turned into a solid vfl level third tall and is not injury prone. Coaches would have a better idea than me about his ceiling, but he looks to me to be someone who would do a job as instructed. We could do with more of those types.
Yeah I thought it might have been you.
I thought the comment about needing small lock down defenders might have been a clue to the unnamed list manager, but I think the author is a crows supporter so maybe crows list manager.
I like that he highlighted the need for a strong team to build a list.
A fellow poster put me on to this site (can’t remember who). There have been a number of good articles but I thought this one was particularly relevant to this thread.

Nailed it Fletcher is one of the most natural wingers I have ever seen. I know Fages loves his pick the best 23 and then allocate those players to positions. It has got us two flags. But at some point you have to stop trying to make sows ears out of silk purses.
Yes if we do have a LTI and go to the mid season draft we need to get a mid sized defender. Or try Beecken or Brain, neither are lock down defenders but at least they have a defensive mind set and mature bodies.
Swung a few around including Brain on ball. Two goals to Bridge in his first vfl game. Beecken got a lot of the ball. Murphy got a long way to go. They seemed to match him up on Bowes who was having a field day. Perhaps they thought that might teach him abit about the game.
In terms of...
As others had said cats seconds playing Lions thirds. Three contested marks from Waller that quarter and competitive in the ruck. Doedee seems to be slightly more free in his movement (or am I imagining it?). Other listed players ok given weight of forward entries.
