Really confident about this game. Treloar and Howe will be better for the run and I expect Pendles and Cox to bounce back from below par showings. Giants have a poor record at the G.
Also the winner of this only gets a 6 day break into the Prelim, WTF? Does anyone half competent work at the AFL?
Agree with what you say, we definitely should have won and played great footy for a large portion of the game. All I'm saying is it doesn't change much in the big picture - the same problems still exist, but yesterday were masked by a dominant midfield performance
+50 contested ball
+9 clearances
+8 inside 50s
+12 tackles
Unbelievable how a team can't win with these numbers.
We scored 103 points, but our dominant midfield masks over the fact our forward line was largely ineffective. Our ballistic pressure and effort in the first half was magnificant...
Think it's already been mentioned but Wills in for Pendles is an absolute no brainer. For whatever reason we are leaking scores from stoppages like a sieve and he is a young bull who can really help in that regard. Get him in
Don't want to hear that we were 'unlucky' or that we should be 'proud' of the performance. We got exactly what was coming to us. Beaten in most key stats by a team with 2 players on the bench just isn't good enough, even against GWS (who's injury list is long and who's recent form was nothing...
Midfield was better today, especially in the 2nd and 3rd quarters where we probably played our best footy for the year. However, we still experience shocking lapses at stages. 1st quarter today we just got spanked in contested ball and clearances and our flawed structures magnified it. Also in...
Jeez that was a tough pill to swallow (excuse the pun). Cloke... don't get me started.
On a positive note, Treloar is an absolute jet, what a recruit he will be. And North got done by 80 points in round 1 last year and made a prelim so not all hope should be lost :thumbsu:
