The failure to award Treloar a HTB free 40m from goal late in Q4 was the worst "decision" of the match - especially after the umps had handed out a couple of red-hot HTB frees against us only minutes earlier. Treloar certainly thought it deserved to be paid, given his reaction to the "play-on"...
WHE has been one of our most reliable goal kickers this season. It would be nuts to drop him with Elliott out and Fas a week-by-week proposition. WHE is one of our few players with any X-factor or game-winning ability.
For the life of me I don't understand what anyone sees in Smith and...
Buddy and Reid had been red hot in Rds 1 & 2, so our defenders deserve massive credit for limiting the damage to just one goal between those two. Several times Buddy was a split-second away from kicking a goal, only to be denied by a desperate, goal-saving tackle or spoil. A great collective...
I mostly like Ramsay and Maynard but gee they've given away a lot of horrible "lack of awareness" free kicks in first two rounds. Replace them with Scharenberg and Dunn.
Replace Blair with Varcoe. Two kicks in four quarters of footy from an 8-year veteran is shameful. Gotta go.
Fasolo...
So who is definitely unavailable for selection for Rd1?
Is it only Sinclair, Wells, Elliott and Langdon among those who have made their AFL debuts? And of those, only Sinclair is an LTI? If so, that's got to be the best shape we've been in at this time of the season for many years. Exciting!
Crisp is one of our most under-rated and versatile players. Calling him a journeyman is very harsh, IMO. He can play as a stopper but also regularly racks up 25+ touches, can break the lines and kick long goals from outside 50m. He also goes alright as an inside mid, when needed. I reckon...
Really? How many disposals/goals did the poor man's Puopolo get for all of his vast time on ground during the whole JLT series? DeGoey was nearly BOG in the game that he played. Blair just doesn't offer any game-turning hurt-factor. Opposition coaches would barely give him a moment's thought.
Treloar is the closest thing I've seen to the WCE version of Chris Judd. Explosive off the mark, great side-step, breaks the lines, rarely gets caught with the ball and can hit the scoreboard from a long way out. Best recruit to land at Collingwood since Nathan Buckley.
