Thankfully the Chicago Bears won the NFL Draft earlier today. After 24 hours not wanting to think about about AFL, I send a heartfelt apology to Jarrod Berry (who has been good the last 3 or so weeks) and think his mate Clugga (my favourite player) might be about to get the cold shoulder...
An entirely proper result - the rules are written the way they are for a reason. Meaning is to be given to the words. I already love watching media commentators trying to mis-explain the basis of the decision and say it stands for good guys all getting off - what a load of drivel.
Glad Fort is in and I think being too tall in the ‘sort of wet’ is a nonsense. The game could become a down-the-line style game and being able to contest effectively is valuable. The Pies backline is also bog average atm and some big targets will do there head in.
Brayshaw’s field kicking is appalling, I see it live every second week. I don’t think he’s much different to LDU & Cerra at the band well below truly elite.
I can’t believe how far Berry has fallen off over the last 12 months. Short of a dramatic turnaround, I can see him being the first of our longer term contracted players to be invited to look elsewhere.
At the game you could see why a 3 tall set up is preferred - plenty of ball in Q2 but no targets in F50 with 1 tall. Big O’s decision making was appalling. Rayner and Bailey a distance off being real midfielders.
Unfortunately, I have to watch the Dockers live almost every second week and I believe that Andrew Brayshaw is one of the most wildly overrated players in the league. If my life depended on delivery of the ball inside F50 (whether pressured or not), I’d prefer Sam Frost of the Hawks over...
