Darcy on the left, his older Brother Jackson on the right at the Gabba 20 years ago. I reckon the Forts are happy family tonight.

    Analysis 2021 trade thread

This is purely word of mouth, take it or leave it. I spoke to a student who is in his year at highschool and he said he is 100% going to the Lions. Apparently Its common knowledge amongst students and teachers that’s his pathway. This person said he has heard first hand him discussing the fact...

    Analysis 2021 trade thread

I've been thinking about him lately in terms of our midfield. He actually looked OK in his first few senior games with us - do you remember the talk about him helping with his bigger body etc? Then he was injured from memory, came back and was average in a couple of games then never appeared...

My memory is it was 3-4 years on roughly 400k? Money we could use right now! LOL

Nice to think about all possibilities and I'm not againts discussing hypotheticals. However.. CEY has no trade value, you would have to give a team picks with him to offload his contract. Matho was recently resigned and would attract a very late pick if anything. Lester is a heart and soul...

    Analysis 2021 trade thread

I actually think that it's more just suggestions get thrown up - Fort, Mitchell, Omera, Cox what ever.. then debates breakout about our needs and best 22. I agree, the actual trade discussion is boring - however, the chat itself ain't that bad. Better than thousands of rolling trade...

    Opinion 2022 Lions kit concept

Narr I would be fine with that. I just hate the notion that it needs to be done 'in the same way' or 'because Fitzroy gets 12 games' - it's a fairly absurd and offensive comparison TBH. I just feel like, 'come on, you have your footy club in your home town each week, do you really also need to...

    Opinion 2022 Lions kit concept

The white kit is horrid. I'd love to see the standard Lions done with the old Bears colours.

    Opinion 2022 Lions kit concept

We have been through this like 1000 times. We honour the Fitzroy heritage because that club is dead, it's fans had their heart ripped out and it's colours were relocated. The Bear was a mascot, not a football club and does not really need to be honoured in 'the same way'. The football club still...

Yeah obviously you would prefer Hippy over Fullerton, but either way, it's extremely tall for a team who already struggles horribly with rebound defence. My response was more about the fact I used the finals team and a relevant, top of mind example. Who knows hey? I'd say the plan is to use...

That not the point at all. Clearly the post was to highlight what commitment to a 5 tall set up would look like - using our most recent team as an example. The same applies if it's Hipwood - he is not a pressure forward.

    Analysis 2021 trade thread

Oh the TV picks it up - there is always a line of Maroon jumpers on the edge of screen having a nice old job and oppo stream forward haha But nonetheless less, a 5 tall set up mid/forward would be at the expense of a smaller player who would be another link in the pressure/defense chain gone.

    Analysis 2021 trade thread

Going into this year it was already debated we were too tall without the 5th (second ruck). We are a slow side who gets ripped apart on the rebound. To play that 5th tall you would sacrifice a mid/winger. Personally, I think it would be simply untenable. Take last years finals team, leave...

    Analysis 2021 trade thread

I know its pie in the sky and not within our reach - but Omera would be perfect for our midfield mix. You would proably get him for a late pick. It's a shame we don't have cap space, given that op to bolster our midfield. On another note, if Cegler to Hawks goes through then I'd say that is as...
