I remember Walsh saying very early saying something like "We can have a joke during the week, but at the end of the day it's a employer/employee relationship". Very clear, he was the boss and not a mate. -

Not a single ounce of accountability made at the selection table will do that to a side. Well, accountability exists if you're under 20-30 games, otherwise you're locked in every game. -

Sheedy pushing the same mistakes that Roo made. Thinks in order to be successful the people involved need to have a deep rooted love for the club. Their actual ability is secondary to that. -

It'd be hilarious except for the fact I support a club that spent the better part of 6 years trying to recruit Simon Goodwin to coach them despite all his issues off-field and also hired and promoted Brett Burton despite his repeated examples of his ineptitude. -

Nicks will be thinking more experience, not less at the moment. I can't see him looking outside his set 25 unless he is absolutely forced through injury. -

Very political too. Have known people who work at the HS in the sports section who've had stories taken off them and given to the bigger journalists (eg Jay Clark) because "We can't have a nobody break this story". Just an accepted part of the deal. -

Yea, my gut feel is they have the injury excuse train all loaded up and ready to roll out of the station. "Oh, we had a tough run with injuries and he finished 1st on the ladder in '25" yadda yadda yadda.
