We just don’t have enough mids/hybrid mids that can win ball cleanly with composure. Macrae and Hall are probably the only 2 in the midfield and Macrae is slow. -

Steele has not looked happy on the field for the last 2-3 years. That doesn’t bold well being the captain, with young mids needing minutes, think letting Steele leave is the right move. Macrae is more of a ball winner whilst being able to play on the wing/half forward flank if required. -

Let’s be honest, neither Higgins or Wilson will help us in the midfield. Macrae at least is a midfielder and got 31 possessions in the VFL today, he is playing a second game for the day I think. LOC is more a mystery, should have picked Boxhall or Tarau I think. -

It’s easy to see, we’re not a contested team, against quality opposition, our mids can’t win a clean ball to save ourselves, and we start to panick with the ball ourselves. having NAS, Hill, Poo and Henry all in one team when you don’t have the ball doesn’t help. Carlton basically adopted the... -

Agree.. he is actually a goal kicking mid in the juniors. In the backline, he is iffy, lots of fumbling and dodgy kick doesn't bold well.. We need Windhager to re-discover his round 1 2025 form where he dominated from the middle against collingwood.. At half-back, Carrol is a much better... -

Carroll's left peg is a weapon.. also has a ok contested game actually... so playing half back, he can rebound better than Windghager for example who tends to skies his kicks and is error prone (turned over at least 4 kicks today, he is not the only one today). He just needs more confidence... -

I agree we play a bruise free brand of football e.g. relies on gut run and hitting free open players, not taking on tacklers and draw the opposition or kicking to forwards’ advantage for a contested mark, we have been playing like this for 10+ years, which is why we as a team are poor at winning... -

TDK had a back issue late in the first/early 2nd quarter, can barely run. Stupid to keep playing him I think. Got killed in the middle there after, there’s no way you can jump/play ruck with an aching back. Windhager is ineffective as a half back, put Nas back there who can actually set up...
