List Mgmt. 2026 Trade/Free Agency Discussion Pt 1

Not doubting his talent and would be the type of player you would be super chuffed about drafting even with a super low end pick but just more as a trade target I don’t think he would be the type you actually pay up to trade for Just an icing on the cake type where if I was spending big on a...

Apparently when we were looking at picking him Serps did some conditioning work with him so he could come straight into our program

Player Watch #16 Josh Smillie - Quad - TBC

Kind of what I was thinking but based on no actual knowledge on the subject Especially when you look at NFL players they have a pretty unique body type in terms of sporting codes that Smillie seems at first glance to be similar too The demands on the players are very different but still...

I guess that is one sliver lining to his injury setbacks Obviously we would all prefer it wasn’t the case but for a young bloke to go over to the US and get involved in genuine world class programmes would be super exciting and could be career defining for him

Works both ways, list spots will be just as important for next years draft/trade period as it will this one If we have enough free’d spots for this year nothing wrong in having one less hard decision to make next year

It’s not ideal but no point delisting him because what we would of paid him still comes out of our salary cap Should definitely put him on the trade table to see if we get any nibbles but as far as delisting go it’s not really worth it

    Welcome #41 Kye Annand

My theory is that key backs suffer from a little bit of people applying confirmation bias when people try to assess them Because when a key back loses a 1v1 it always essentially results in an opponents shot on goal and it’s replayed most of the time while the forward lines up so it sticks in...

Yeah I don’t really buy the Caddy hype He has the highlights but his small for a key forward by today’s standards and don’t think he has the chops to spearhead a forward line consistently a solid B grade to B+ but he’s not in that tier that you throw the farm at either imo

    Welcome #41 Kye Annand

That’s that’s with Miller not really having a number two with him down back to assist We do need another key back but not to replace Miller but to give him support especially against some of those really big guys that the league has now

    Welcome #41 Kye Annand

My thoughts exactly Don’t need to be fancy to do a job just need that discipline and body to back it up We don’t really have any proper old school defenders now that Young moved on so it will be nice to get one again

    Welcome #41 Kye Annand

I rate El Nour but he’s not exactly a stopper of goals either He is more of an interceptor like Balta who plays best free to read the ball We have a few of that type already so getting an actual stopper makes sense because we lack guys who can lock down someone and do a job
