My acceptance of a Board position would be dependent on the Boards recognition of my role as a members advocate within a member based organisation. I would seek agreed positions around engagement and transparency of decision making.

I see a members advocate as someone who is elected by members to listen to members and take the various opinions to the Board and the club for discussion. And then to re-connect with members and supporters after doing so.
Totally understand. As a member based organisation, there will always be a diversity of member opinions. The question is: do you think that diversity of opinion is listened to or responded to?
A dedicated email address for members and finding speaking and engagement opportunities with member and supporter groups are the key ones. Has to be two way communication.
