Never followed AFL before AFLW. TLDR; grew up in a rugby area, played rugby at uni, had no way to watch women's rugby on the telly, saw that the AFL were launching a league and seemed to be taking it pretty seriously, been a GWS member ever since, and latterly a Swans member too. I still don't...
I really like this. Double headers each weekend is not the way for a host of reasons, but doubleheaders as a special event to start the season could work really well.
Congrats again!
I didn’t have time to listen to podcasts (and barely to play really) in the second half of the season, but now I want to recap how they got so high, because I thought they were just dangling around in the middle when I stopped listening.
Have to say I don't quite get the Scarlett hype yet. The highlight reels are a bunch of uncontested marks, which is great, I mean there are still AFLW players out there dropping them, but thought that would be more of a baseline at this point. Hope she proves me wrong!
Is it worth trying to even predict these things, when NSW players like McCormick can decide they want to move to Vic anyway? Should we just pick the best available and then do our best to win them over to Sydney life?
So 2 F2s and an F3, with an F4 in return - we end up with not so many picks in next year's draft?
Or can we keep trading 'into the future' indefinitely? This is probably a dumb question as I don't follow the men's but I know they've been trading future picks for longer.
Forgive a Giants supporter dropping in but yeah might be so: https://www.timeout.com/australia/news/australian-queer-artist-kath-ebbs-shows-us-why-they-love-living-in-sydneys-bondi-bubble-050224

yeah that seems a little unders.
They've sure got me paying attention to the trade drip feed this year.
This seems like a good deal, always rated her, just seems like she couldn't break into the Brisbane side post injury this year. Tall and strong gal.
How's the GWS announcement:
They ain't giving up McCormick yet.
If they do end up keeping her, we'll be pretty stacked with defenders. Wonder if...
I've been sanguine about most of the players we've lost in the past, but this one stings for some reason. We actually managed to pick a NSW player with potential, develop her, she got good, and she wants out... just kinda sad.
Mmm, a good analogy might be another tall, skinny, exciting forward who went at pick #8 and hasn't got up to much: Zimmie Farquharson. (And who is also departing the Bulldogs.) Hope things work out for her somewhere else, would love to see her at her full potential.
It's been said before but makes sense here again: it was (like most so far) a compromised draft with the likes of Lauren Young and Shineah Goody going beforehand. Rookieme ranked 7 of the expansion picks ahead of KLWT in fact...
Sorry to offend mate, I support both and there isn't really an option for that with these tags. I want to see them both doing well, pretty much equally, although the mix of emotions behind it is different for each team.
